Yukinobu Hoshino Begins Manga About Chinese Explorer Zheng He

Yukinobu Hoshino began a new manga titled Kaitei (Ocean Adventurer Kaitei) in this year’s 14th issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic magazine on July 10, 2018. The manga tells of the “life and death” voyages of Ming Dynasty Chinese explorer Zheng He. The first chapter features a trip to Japan.

Hoshino also created the 2001 Nights science fiction manga series. He ended his Rainman manga after almost three years in January 2018.

Rainman Manga to End Serialization in January 2018

This year’s second issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic magazine has announced that Yukinobu Hoshino’s Rainman manga will end in the next issue on January 25, 2018. The manga’s seventh and final compiled book volume will ship in Japan on February 23, 2018.

Hoshino launched the manga in Big Comic in May 2015, delayed from its original March 2015 launch date. Shogakukan shipped the sixth compiled book volume on October 30, 2016.

Yukinobu Hoshino Delays the Start of His Rainman Manga

This year’s eighth issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic magazine is announcing that Yukinobu Hoshino will delay the launch of his new Rainman supernatural manga series until the magazine’s 11th issue, which Shogakukan will publish on May 25, 2015. The manga was originally scheduled to launch on March 25, 2015 in the magazine’s seventh issue.

Hoshino also created the 2001 Nights science fiction manga series, which he originally serialized in Futabasha’s Monthly Super Action magazine. It was adapted into an original video anime of the same name in 1987, and another OVA titled To (2001 Nights) in 2009, which FUNimation licensed and released in North America in June 2011.

Yukinobu Hoshino Launching New Manga Titled Rainman

This year’s sixth issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic magazine is announcing that that Yukinobu Hoshino will launch a new science fiction manga series, Rainman, in the magazine’s next issue. Shokagugan will publish the next issue in Japan on March 25, 2015.

Hoshino also created the 2001 Nights science fiction manga series, which he originally serialized in Futabasha’s Monthly Super Action magazine. It was adapted into an original video anime of the same name in 1987, and another OVA titled To (2001 Nights) in 2009, which FUNimation licensed and released in North America in June 2011.
