Kazuki Takahashi to Launch Short Manga in Weekly Shonen Jump

This year’s 45th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that Kazuki Takahashi will pen a new short manga series titled The Comiq. The manga will debut in the 46th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on October 15, 2018. The first chapter will have 53 pages.

The manga is commemorating the 50th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump. The series will focus on the rookie manga creator Genkō and his secret.

VIZ Media’s Weekly Shonen Jump to Preview the Teenage Renaissance! David and I’m From Japan Manga

VIZ Media’s digital English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump has confirmed that it will preview Yūshin Kuroki’s Teenage Renaissance! David (Shishunki Renaissance! David-kun) and Seiji Hayashi’s I’m From Japan (Jimoto ga Japan) manga in English in its next issue on September 17, 2019. Both gag manga will debut in Japan on September 15, 2018. Japan’s Weekly Shonen Jump will ship on Saturday instead of Monday, as September 17 is a holiday.

Teenage Renaissance! David is about a “typical Japanese high school student” who looks exactly like Michelangelo’s David statue.

The “locality gag” manga I’m From Japan will “overflow with love for hometowns.”

For its “Jump Start” initiative, VIZ Media’s Weekly Shonen Jump publishes the first three chapters of a new manga simultaneously with the Japanese release.

Weekly Shonen Jump to Launch Two New Gag Manga on September 15, 2018

This year’s 41st issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that it will launch two new manga series in the magazine’s 42nd issue on September 15, 2018 (the 42nd issue ships on Saturday, as Monday, September 17 is a holiday). Both new manga will be gag manga.

Yūshin Kuroki will launch the Shijunki Rennaisance! David-kun (Puberty Renaissance! David) manga. The manga will focus on the “very normal love of a high school student who is a stone statue.” The first chapter will have 23 pages. Kuroki previously published a one-shot with the same title in Weekly Shonen Jump earlier in 2018. He has also published other one-shots in the magazine, and won an honorable mention in the 57th Jump Treasure Shinjin Mangashō (Jump Treasure Rookie Manga Award) contest in 2012 with the “Megaton Panchira Yoshida” one-shot.

Seiji Hayashi will launch the Jimoto ga Japan manga. The “locality gag” manga will “overflow with love for hometowns.” Hayashi has previously published the “Oidemase Yamaguchi” one-shot and the Chikyū Ningen Terra-chan short manga series on the Shonen Jump+ website and app.

The issue will also feature a one-shot titled “Apollo” by Fusai Naba, who has previously published works in Shonen Jump GIGA.

Momiji no Kisetsu Manga Ends in Weekly Shonen Jump

This year’s 40th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has published the final chapter of Masayoshi Satosho’s Momiji no Kisetsu manga.

The manga debuted in this year’s 24th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on May 14, 2018. VIZ Media published the first three chapters of the manga in English as part of its “Jump Start” initiative.

Shuieisha will publish the manga’s first volume on Seotember 4, 2018, and will publish the manga’s second volume in November 2018.

VIZ Media’s Weekly Shonen Jump to Publish “HOT” One-Shot Manga by Akira Amano

VIZ Media has announced that it will publish Akira Amano’s “HOT” one-shot manga in its English digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday, August 6, 2018.

The one-shot will debut in the year’s 35th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on August 6, 2018. The manga will center on the sport of ice hockey.

Amano is known for the Reborn! and ēlDLIVE manga.

One Piece/Food Wars! Spin-off Manga About Sanji to Run in the English Weekly Shonen Jump

VIZ Media’s English-language digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump has announced that it will publish “Shokugeki no Sanji,” a one-shot manga crossing over One Piece and Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, in its next issue on July 23, 2018.

One Piece‘s Eiichiro Oda and Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma creators Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki are collaborating on the one shot.

The manga will debut on the same day in Japan, in the Weekly Shonen Jump issue marking the 21st anniversary of One Piece.

VIZ Media’s Weekly Shonen Jump to Publish Tite Kubo’s “Burn the Witch” One-Shot

VIZ Media has announced that it will publish Tite Kubo’s “Burn the Witch” one-shot manga in its English digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday, July 16, 2018.

The one-shot will debut in this year’s 33rd issue of the magazine on July 14, 2018. It will have 62 pages. Shueisha’s official website for Shonen Jump describes the manga with the key words “Witches, dragons, and reverse London.”

VIZ Media’s digital English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump has confirmed that it will preview Takahide Totsuno’s Alice & Taiyo (Alice to Taiyō) manga in English beginning on July 2, 2018 as part of its “Jump Start” initiative. The manga will debut in Japan in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on the same day.

Robot × Laserbeam and ZIGA Manga Both End in Weekly Shōnen Jump

This year’s 30th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine published the final chapter of both Tadatoshi Fujimaki’s Robot x Laserbeam manga and Rokurō Sano and Kentarō Hidano’s ZIGA manga.

Fujimaki launched the Robot x Laserbeam manga in March 2017. VIZ Media previewed the first three chapters of the manga, then added it to its digital Weekly Shonen Jump lineup in April 2017.

The manga’s sixth volume will ship in July on July 4, 2018, and the seventh volume will ship on September 4, 2018.

ZIGA debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump on March 19, 2018. VIZ Media published the first three chapters in English as part of its Jump Start initiative.

The manga’s first volume will ship in Japan on July 4, 2018, and the second volume will ship on September 4, 2018 with an epilogue chapter.

VIZ Media’s digital English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump has announced that it will begin a new round of “Jump Start” titles with Keiji Amatsuka’s Sogo Jikan Jigyo Gaisha Daihyo Torishimariyaku Shacho Senzoku Hisho Tanaka Seiji (General Time Company Director President Special Secretary Seiji Tanaka) on June 25, 2018. The manga will debut in Japan in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on the same day.
