FUNimation Entertainment to Screen Violet Evergarden I: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll Anime in U.S. Theaters

FUNimation Entertainment announced at Ohayocon 2020 that it will screen Violet Evergarden I: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll (Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eien to Jidō Shuki Ningyō), a side story to the Violet Evergarden anime, in select theaters in the United States in early 2020. The screenings will be in Japanese with English subtitles.

FUNimation describes the side story anime:

Violet Evergarden comes to a private women’s academy to tutor Isabella in the ways of being a lady. Heir to the York family, Isabella feels trapped in this new and uncomfortable world. She still grieves for the only person to ever bring her happiness – now lost to her. Violet’s lessons do give her a brief respite from the melancholy but with the absence of joy, how long does it take to truly heal?

Violet Evergarden Film Rescheduled to April 24, 2020

The official website for Kyoto Animation’s Violet Evergarden: The Movie anime film project has announced that the film’s production committee has rescheduled the film’s opening to April 24, 2020. The committee thanked the fans for their support, and noted that the director and staff are working with all their hearts and strength on the production.

The film was originally scheduled to be released on January 10, 2020.

Violet Evergarden Film Officially Delayed From Its Planned January 10, 2020 Opening

The official website for Kyoto Animation’s Violet Evergarden: The Movie anime film project has announced that the film’s original January 10, 2020 release date has been delayed. The anime’s production committee emphasized in the online statement that production work on the movie still continuing, and the committee plans to announce the new opening date later.

The franchise’s separate side-story anime, titled Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll (Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eien to Jidō Shuki Ningyō), opened in theaters in Japan on September 6, 2019.

Netflix U.S. Sets Violet Evergarden Special Episode and The Seven Deadly Sins Season 2 Premiere Dates for October 2018

Netflix U.S. has announced that it will debut the “Violet Evergarden: Special: Extra Episode” on October 4, 2018, the same day it debuts in Japan. In addition, the company also announced that the The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments anime will premiere on October 15, 2018.

The Violet Evergarden “Extra Episode” anime originally shipped with the television series’ fourth Blu-ray Disc and DVD release on July 4, 2018.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments premiered in Japan in January 2018.

The Violet Evergarden Anime Is Now Available on Netflix in the United States

Netflix began streaming the 13 episodes of Violet Evergarden “Season 1” in the United States on April 5, 2018. The series is available with Japanese (audio description and original), English, French, German, and Spanish audio. Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified and traditional), and Spanish subtitles are available.

Violet Evergarden premiered on Japanese television on January 10, 2018.

Netflix is listing an April 5, 2018 premiere date for Violet Evergarden “Season 1” in the United States. The series premiered on television in Japan on January 10, 2018, and launched on Netflix on January 11, 2018 in some territories, including Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines.

In Japan, the series can only be found by searching under the Japanese title, ヴァイオレット・エヴァーガーデン. It has audio in English, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese, and it is subtitled in English, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese.
