The official Facebook account for Adult Swim’s Toonami block has announced that the SSSS.Gridman anime will premiere at 2:30 a.m. EST on January 16, 2021 (effectively, January 17, 2021).

The Toonami lineup as of January 16, 2021 will be:

  • 12:00AM – Dragon Ball Super
  • 12:30AM – Attack on Titan The Final Season
  • 01:00AM – Sword Art Online: Alicization War of Underworld Part 2
  • 01:30AM – Fire Force Season 2
  • 02:00AM – Assassination Classroom

Toonami to Premiere Attack on Titan Final Season on January 9, 2021

The Facebook page for Toonami has announced that the block will begin airing Attack on Titan Final Season on January 9, 2021 at 12:30 a.m. With the addition of this title, the Toonami block will be expanded by half an hour.

On January 9, 2021, the Toonami lineup will consist of:

  • 12:00 a.m. – Dragon Ball Super
  • 12:30 a.m. – Attack on Titan Final Season
  • 01:00 a.m. – Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld
  • 01:30 a.m. – Fire Force

Toonami to Add the SSSS.Gridman Anime to Its Lineup in January 2021

The staff of Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block announced during a Toonami Pre-Flight livestreamthat the block will start running Studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions’ SSSS.Gridman anime in January 2021.

The 12-episode SSSS.Gridman anime premiered in October 2018. The series was a collaboration between the anime studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions (the creator of the Ultraman franchise and the original 1993-1994 live-action tokusatsu series Denkō Chōjin Gridman). Crunchyroll and FUNimation Entertainment simulcast the anime as it aired, and FUNimation also streamed an English dub for the series.

Toonami to Premiere the Sword Art Online: Alicization War of Underworld Part 2 Anime on November 7, 2020

The official Twitter account of Aniplex of America and the official Facebook account for Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block have announced that the Sword Art Online: Alicization War of Underworld Part 2 anime will premiere on the block at 12:30 a.m. EST on November 7, 2020 (effectively November 8, 2020).

The full lineup for November 7, 2020 includes:

  • 12:00 a.m. – Dragon Ball Super
  • 12:30 a.m. – Sword Art Online: Alicization War of Underworld Part 2
  • 01:00 a.m. – Fire Force Season 2
  • 01:30 a.m. – Assassination Classroom

Sword Art Online: Alicization War of Underworld Part 2, the anime’s “Final Season,” premiered on July 11, 2020, and the series ended on September 19, 2020.

Toonami has announced on its Facebook page that Assassination Classroom will be joining its lineup on August 29, 2020 at 1:00 a.m.

The lineup starting on August 29, 2020 includes:

Toonami to Premiere the Second Season of the Fire Force Anime on October 24, 2020

The official Facebook account for Adult Swim’s Toonami block has announced that the second season of the Fire Force anime will premiere on October 24, 2020. The block will rerun the anime’s first season, starting with the 15th episode, on August 9, 2020 at 1:00 a.m. EDT.

The account also announced that the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind anime will return to the Toonami block on August 2, 2020 at 12:30 a.m. EDT.

Adult Swim’s Toonami to Air “Special Anime Short” on July 26, 2020

The official Facebook account for Adult Swim’s Toonami block has announced that it will air a “special anime short” on July 26, 2020 at 12:30 a.m. EDT. The short will push back Paranoia Agent, the show that is currently in the 12:30 a.m. time slot, by 10 minutes.

Toonami will have the following schedule on that day:

  • 12:00 a.m. – Dragon Ball Super
  • 12:30 a.m. – “Special Anime Short”
  • 12:40 a.m. – Paranoia Agent
  • 1:15 a.m. – Mob Psycho 100 (Note: The Facebook account’s photo lists “Mob Psycho 101”)
  • 1:50 a.m. – Black Clover

Adult Swim’s Toonami to Bring Back Satoshi Kon’s Paranoia Agent Anime on April 25, 2020

The official Facebook account for Adult Swim’s Toonami block has announced that the block will re-run Satoshi Kon’s Paranoia Agent anime on April 25, 2020 in the United States, replacing the Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma anime in the 1:00 a.m. time slot.

Jason DeMarco, senior vice-president and creative director for Adult Swim, posted on Twitter to clarify that Adult Swim still intends to show the remaining three seasons of the Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma anime, but that those seasons require a new deal for different rights.

FUNimation Entertainment recently licensed Paranoia Agent, and began streaming it with English subtitles and an English dub on February 4, 2020. The company also plans to release the anime on home video in 2020, which will include the series’ first Blu-ray Disc release in English.

Toonami Programming Block to Move to a Three Hour Length

Jason DeMarco, senior vice-president and creative director for Adult Swim, posted on Twitter that Toonami will be moving back to a three hour block “for a while.” DeMarco stated that Adult Swim’s programming department asked about how his team felt about shortening the Toonami broadcast, as the programming block at 5.5-6 hours in length was “getting too expensive and unwieldy to handle.” DeMarco added that his team’s preferred length for the broadcast is three hours.

The official Facebook page for Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block announced that the lineup will get shorter on February 22, 2020 (airing 11:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.) and even shorter on February 29, 2020 (airing 11:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.).

Toonami will air the final episode of Dr. Stone on February 22, 2020.

The schedule for Toonami starting on February 29, 2020 will be:

  • 11:30 p.m. – My Hero Academia
  • 12:00 a.m. – Sword Art Online Alicization: War Of Underworld
  • 12:30 a.m. – Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
  • 1:00 a.m. – Food Wars!
  • 1:30 a.m. – Black Clover
  • 2:00 a.m. – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

DeMarco additionally teased that there are six shows in production for Toonami, including the previously announced Uzumaki and Blade Runner — Black Lotus anime.

  • 11:30 p.m. – Dr. Stone
  • 12:00 a.m. – Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld
