Crunchyroll has announced the territories for its planned simulcast of The Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yūsha no Nariagari) anime. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide outside of Asia. The anime will premiere in Japan in January 2019.
Crunchyroll will stream the anime with both English subtitles and dubbing as it airs in Japan, after premiering the first dubbed episode at Crunchyroll Expo on September 3, 2018 with guests from the anime.
Takao Abo is directing the anime at Kinema Citrus. Keigo Koyanagi is in charge of series composition. Masahiro Suwa is adapting Seira Minami’s original character designs for animation. The series is a Crunchyroll co-production.
The staff and main cast have been announced for the forthcoming anime adaptation of The Rising of The Shield Hero light novel series.
The main cast includes:
- Kaito Ishikawa is Naofumi Iwatani
- Asami Seto is Raphtalia
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka is Ren Amaki
- Makoto Takahashi is Motoyasu Kitamura
- Yoshitaka Yamaya is Itsuki Kawasumi

Anime News Network is reporting that One Peace Books has licensed Aiya Kyu’s manga adaptation of The Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yusha no Nariagari) light novel series. The company plans to release the first volume of the manga on November 17, 2015.
