The Quintessential Quintuplets Anime Sequel Film to Open in 2022

The official Twitter account for The Quintessential Quintuplets (Gotōbun no Hanayome) television anime has announced that the Eiga Gotōbun no Hanayome (The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie) sequel will open in 2022. The film news came during the evening session of “The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬ Special Event 2021 in Nakano Sun Plaza.”

The first season of The Quintessential Quintuplets premiered on Japanese television in January 2019. Crunchyroll simulcast the season, and FUNimation Entertainment streamed an English dub. The second season premiered on Japanese television on January 7, 2021. Crunchyroll simulcast the second season, and FUNimation Entertainment streamed an English dub.

The Quintessential Quintuplets Anime to Get a Sequel

The staff of Gotōbun no Hanayome ∬ (The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬), the series’ second anime season, has announced that the anime is getting a sequel.

The second season of The Quintessential Quintuplets premiered on Japanese television on January 7, 2021. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the second season, and FUNimation Entertainment is streaming an English dub.

FUNimation Entertainment to Stream the English Dub of the Second Season of The Quintessential Quintuplets Anime

FUNimation Entertainment has announced that it will stream the English dub for The Quintessential Quintuplets 2 (Gotōbun no Hanayome ∬), the series’ second season. The second season’s dub will premiere after the anime debuts in Japan on January 7, 2021, and the company will announce the release date in the future.

The new season was originally scheduled to premiere in October 2020 but was delayed due to COVID-19.

The story of The Quintessential Quintuplets is described as:

One day, a poor high school second-year named Futaro Uesugi comes across a private tutoring gig with good pay. But his pupils are his classmates. And they’re quintuplets. And they’re all gorgeous girls, but they’re also troublemakers who hate to study and are on the verge of flunking out. And his first task is simply gaining the sisters’ trust? Every day is a party. FUNimation Entertainment has announced four more simuldubs for the Winter 2019 anime season.

The company will stream a simuldub of Date A Live III, the third television anime season based on Koushi Tachibana’s Date A Live light novel series, beginning on January 25, 2019 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Ireland.

The simuldub of the The Quintessential Quintuplets (Gotōbun no Hanayome) anime will begin streaming on FunimationNow on January 30, 2019 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

FUNimation will begin streaming the simuldub of the Endro~! anime on January 30, 2019 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

The company will stream a simuldub of the second part of the Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202 (Uchū Senkan Yamato 2202: Ai no Senshi-tachi or Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love) anime sequel project on February 2, 2019 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. However, their announcement does not mention whether or not a subtitled version for this title will be available for streaming.

Crunchyroll Announces Four More Simulcasts for the Winter 2019 Season

Crunchyroll has announced for more simulcasts for the Winter 2019 anime season.

The service will begin simulcasting Date A Live III, the third television anime season based on Koushi Tachibana’s Date A Live light novel series, on January 11, 2019. Crunchyroll has not yet confirmed the territories.

The Quintessential Quintuplets (Gotōbun no Hanayome) anime will premiere on Crunchyroll on January 10, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. EST. The stream will be available worldwide outside of Asia and the Middle East.

Endro~! will premiere on Crunchyroll on January 12, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. EST in North America, Latin America, UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

B-PROJECT: Zecchō Emotion will premiere on Crunchyroll on January 11, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. EST in the United States and Canada.

More Cast Members Announced for The Quintessential Quintuplets Anime

More cast members have been announced for the forthcoming anime adaptation of The Quintessential Quintuplets manga:

  • Natsumi Takamori is Raiha Uesugi
  • Satoshi Hino is Isanari Uesugi

The main female cast members Kana Hanazawa, Ayana Taketatsu, Miku Itō, Ayane Sakura, and Inori Minase are performing the opening theme song “Gotōbun no Kimochi” (Quintuplet Feelings) as the group Nakano-ke no Itsuko (The Nakano Family’s Quintuplets), while Aya Uchida is performing the ending theme song “Sign.”

Satoshi Kuwabara is directing the series at Tezuka Productions. Keiichirō Ōchi is in charge of series composition. Michinosuke Nakamura and Miyabi Uta are designing the characters. Natsumi Tabuchi, Hanae Nakamura, and Miki Sakurai are composing the music.

The Quintessential Quintuplets is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television on January 11, 2019.
