Anime Boston has announced that three staff members from the City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes anime film will be guests at their upcoming convention: chief director Kenji Kodama, producer Naohiro Ogata, and scriptwriter Yoichi Kato.
Kodama began his career at Tokyo Movie in 1970 and then worked for Sunrise in the 1980s. Beginning in the mid-1990s, he directed the television series and films for the first six years of the Detective Conan anime franchise. He directed television anime such as Kekkaishi and Tales of the Abyss in the 2000s.
Ogata joined Sunrise in 1997. He has produced anime such as Mobile Suit Gundam NT, Mobile Suit Gundam UC, InuYasha: The Final Act, Kekkaishi, and Tales of the Abyss.
Kato’s credits include Duel Masters, Yo-Kai Watch, 07=Ghost, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, and Space Brothers.
Anime Boston will be taking place at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts from April 19-21, 2019.
Anime Expo has announced that Sunrise producers Osamu Taniguchi and Naohiro Ogata will be guests at their upcoming convention.
Taniguchi and Ogata will participate in the Sunrise industry panel, and Taniguchi will also participate in a screening of the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin anime’s sixth episode, “Rise of the Red Comet,” which will also feature appearances by voice actors from the anime.
Taniguchi joined TMS Entertainment in 1999, and served as animation producer on Moyashimon, among other titles. He joined Sunrise in 2012, and is credited as assistant producer on Natsuiro Kiseki, and producer on Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin.
Ogata joined Sunrise in 1997. He worked as production assistant on Turn A Gundam and Inuyasha, and is credited as producer in such titles as Tales of the Abyss, Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Gundam: Reconguista in G, and Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt.
Anime Expo will be taking place July 5-8, 2018, with a pre-show event on July 4, 2018, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.
