Newly Dubbed World War Blue Coming Out on Blu-ray

Media Blasters and its Anime Works label announce the Blu-ray release of the World War Blue anime series. The three-episode program will launch its attack on Blu-ray and DVD, boasting a newly recorded English dub, on August 8, 2017. The program is now available in English and HD for all new media and streaming.

World War Blue is a fantasy anime series based on a manga created by Anastasia Shestakova and illustrated by Crimson. Some of the world’s favorite fourth generation 16-bit video games are personified in this animated, medieval fantasy re-imagining of the 90’s console wars when video game companies furiously fought for market share in the retail world. World War Blue tells the saga of two warring kingdoms, the Segwa Kingdom and Ninteldo Empire battling for dominance over the land of Consume. After years of conflict, things are looking grim for the Segwa Kingdom until Gear, a hyper-skilled young warrior, joins the fight. Will Gear be the Segwa’s secret weapon and last hope? The cast of colorful characters are parodies of popular Nintendo and Sega games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Tetris, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. and more.

Brittany Lauda, co-owner of Kocha Sound and director of Ladies versus Butlers! and Juden-Chan, directed the new English dub featuring the voices of Matt Shipman and Y. Chang in the leading roles. The cast is full of exciting cameos to fill the shoes of the many video game parodies, including Clifford Chapin, Mike Pollock, Keith Silverstein, Kyle Hebert, and more. The English dub was written by Chris Niosi aka Kirbopher.
