FUNimation Entertainment Announces Premiere Dates for the Spring 2021 Anime Season

FUNimation Entertainment has announced the premiere dates for the anime that will simulcast during the Spring 2021 season:

  • Hetalia World Stars – April 1, 2021
  • Combatants Will Be Dispatched! – April 4, 2021
  • Megalobox 2: Nomad – April 4, 2021
  • Dragon Goes House-Hunting – April 4, 2021
  • Moriarty the Patriot Part 2 – April 4, 2021
  • MARS RED – April 5, 2021
  • The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent – April 6, 2021
  • Full Dive: This Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life! – April 7, 2021
  • The World Ends with You the Animation – April 9, 2021
  • Blue Reflection Ray – April 9, 2021
  • Battle Athletes Victory ReSTART! – April 10, 2021

The anime will stream in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Ireland on FunimationNow; in Australia and New Zealand on AnimeLab; and in France, Russia, Germany and in Scandinavian countries on Wakanim.

FUNimation will also stream the English dubs for How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Ω and Zombie Land Saga Revenge in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, and in Australia and New Zealand on AnimeLab. The company will announce the dubs’ premieres at a later date.

The company will also stream the simuldub of Fruits Basket the Final Season, and it began streaming the first episode in English on March 19, 2021.

FUNimation will simulcast the third season of the Kingdom anime, and it will announce the simulcast premiere at a later date.

The Third Season of the Kingdom Anime to Return in Spring 2021

The official website for the Kingdom anime has announced that the third season is scheduled to resume its broadcast in Spring 2021.

The anime’s production committee announced on April 26, 2020 that it was delaying the broadcast of Episode 5 and later episodes of the third season. The committee explained that production had been going forward with enough time allotted, but the Japanese government’s state of emergency declaration against COVID-19 greatly impacted the production schedule.

The third season of Kingdom premiered on Japanese television on April 6, 2020.

The Third Season of the Kingdom Anime Delays New Episodes Due to COVID-19

The production committee for the Kingdom anime has announced that it is delaying the broadcast of Episode 5 and later episodes of the third season. The committee explained that production had been going forward with enough time allotted, but the government’s state of emergency declaration against COVID-19 greatly impacted the production schedule.

Episode 4 of the third season will still air as scheduled on April 26, 2020, but Episode 5 will not air as scheduled on May 3, 2020. The anime’s official website and Twitter account will announce the start date of new episodes when the committee has decided it.

The third season of Kingdom premiered on April 6, 2020. FUNimation Entertainment is simulcasting the series as it airs in Japan.

FUNimation Entertainment to Stream the Third Season of the Kingdom Anime in Spring 2020

FUNimation Entertainment has announced that it will stream the third season of the Kingdom anime during the Spring 2020 season in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

The third season will have a new production staff compared to the previous series. Kenichi Imaizumi is directing the anime at Studio Signpost (the new name of Pierrot Plus). Noboru Takagi is in charge of series scripts. Hisashi Abe is designing the characters.

The third season of Kingdom is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television on April 6, 2020.

Crunchyroll Adds More Anime to Its Catalog

Crunchyroll has added the following anime to its streaming catalog:

  • “Day 13” (the unaired 13th episode for 91 Days
  • Project Blue Earth SOS – available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa
  • Second season of Kingdom – available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa

Crunchyroll Adds Kingdom and Cheer Boys!! to Its Catalog

Crunchyroll has added the first season of the Kingdom television anime series and the Cheer Boys!! television anime to its catalog. Both series are available in Japanese with English subtitles.

The first anime series based on Yasuhisa Hara’s Kingdom historical manga premiered in June 2012 and FUNimation streamed the series as it aired in Japan. The second anime series ran for 39 episodes from 2013-2014. FUNimation released both seasons on DVD.

The Cheer Boys!! (Cheer Danshi!!) television anime series, which is based on Ryō Asai’s novel of the same name, premiered in Japan in July 2016. FUNimation streamed the series with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. The company will release its Blu-ray Disc and DVD combo packs for the series on November 7, 2017.
