FanimeCon and Kawaii Kon Announce Aya Hirano as Guest

Northern California’s FanimeCon and Hawaii’s Kawaii Kon have both announced that Aya Hirano will be a guest at their events this year.

Hirano’s credits include Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Yuki Morikawa in White Album, Lumière in Kiddy Grade, Misa in Death Note, Lucy in Fairy Tail, Mamori in Eyeshield 21, Migi in Parasyte -the maxim-, Paiman in Gatchaman Crowds, and Dende in Dragon Ball Super.

She has performed theme songs for anime such as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Fairy Tail, and Lucky Star.

FanimeCon will take place in San Jose, California from May 24-27, 2019.

Kawaii Kon will take place in Honolulu, Hawaii from April 5-7, 2019.

Kawaii Kon Announces Kanae Itō as Guest

Kawaii Kon has announced that voice actress and singer Kanae Itō will be a guest at their upcoming convention. Kon’s credits include Amu Hinamori and Dia in Shugo Chara!, Yui in Sword Art Online, Midori in Divine Gate, Ruiko Saten in A Certain Scientific Railgun, Miura Rinaldi in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid, Ohana Matsumae in Hanasaku Iroha – Blossoms for Tomorrow, Sena Kashiwazaki in Haganai, Elysia de Lute Ima in The World God Only Knows, and Nana Astar Deviluke in To Love-Ru.

Itō has also performed theme songs for some of the anime where she played a main role.

Kawaii Kon will be taking place April 7-9, 2017 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu.

Kawaii Kon Announces Shigeto Koyama and Hiromi Wakabayashi as Guests

Hawaii anime convention Kawaii Kon has revealed that it will host Studio Trigger’s Shigeto Koyama and Hiromi Wakabayashi.

Koyama is an animator and designer at Trigger. He has worked on titles including HEROMAN, Eureka Seven, Gurren Lagann, Star Driver, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Rebuild of Evangelion, Kill la Kill, and Big Hero 6. Koyama has also provided design work for the No More Heroes video game franchise. This year, he directed his first short film “Obakechan” as part of Studio Khara’s “Japan Animator Expo” project. Koyama previously appeared at FanimeCon in 2012.

Wakabayashi has collaborated on several works with Hiroyuki Imaishi. His work includes setting production for Gurren Lagann as well as the original idea, plot development, and directing participation for Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. For Kill la Kill, Wakabayashi contributed plot development, directed the second ending sequence, and assisted and oversaw the design team as a creative officer.

Kawaii Kon will be taking place April 8-10, 2016.

Kawaii Kon Announces Tohru Furuya and Range Murata as Guests

Kawaii Kon has announced that Japanese voice actor Tohru Furuya and artist Range Murata will be guests at their upcoming convention.

Furuya’s credits include Amuro Ray in Mobile Suit Gundam, Pegasus Seiya in Saint Seiya, Kyosuke Kasuga in Kimagure Orange Road, Yamcha in Dragon Ball Z, and Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Kamen in Sailor Moon. He’s currently reprising his role in Dragon Ball Z Kai.

Murata has created character designs for Blue Submarine No. 6, Last Exile, Shangri-La, and Last Exile -Fam, The Silver Wing-. He was also “Best Artist of the Year” 2006 in the Seiun Awards.

Kawaii Kon will be taking place March 27-29, 2015 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Kawaii Kon has announced that anime voice actress Masako Nozawa will be a guest at their next convention. Nozawa’s credits include Goku in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, Tetsuro Hoshino in Galaxy Express 999, Dr. Kureha in One Piece, Kitaro in Gegege no Kitaro, and Guilmon in Digimon Tamers.

Kawaii Kon will be taking place April 4-6, 2014 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Kawaii Kon Announces Ayumi Fujimura and Tetsuya Kakihara as Guests

Kawaii Kon has announced that Japanese anime voice actors Ayumi Fujimura and Tetsuya Kakihara will be guests at their next convention.

Fujimara’s credits include Ayano Kannagi in Kaze no Stigma, Azaka Kokuo in The Garden of Sinners, Chiharu Harukaze in Hayate the Combat Butler, Cecily Cambell in The Sacred Blacksmith, Niche in Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee, Seiri Fukiyose in A Certain Magical Index, and Lene Kleinbeck in Buddy Complex.

Kakihara’s credits include Natsu Dragneel in Fairy Tail, Koha Ren in Magi – The Kingdom of Magic, Shino Inuzuka in Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East, Shima in Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, and Karauri in Hozuki no Reitetsu.

Kawaii Kon will be taking place April 4-6, 2014 at the Hawaii Convention Center.

Kawaii Kon Announces Toshio Furukawa as Guest

Kawaii Kon has announced that anime voice actor Toshio Furukawa will be a guest at their next convention. Furukawa’s credits include Ataru Moroboshi in Urusei Yatsura, Piccolo in Dragon Ball Z, Kai Shinden in Mobile Suit Gundam, and Detective Yamamura in Detective Conan/Case Closed.

Kawaii Kon will be taking place March 15-17, 2013 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
