New Cast Members Announced for the Second Season of the Kakegurui Anime

New cast members have been announced for the forthcoming second season of the Kakegurui anime:

  • Romi Park is Rei “Batsubami”
  • Megumi Han is Terano Totobami
  • Haruno Inoue is Yumi Totobami
  • Ayana Taketatsu is Erimi Mushibami
  • Yumi Uchiyama is Miyo Inbami
  • Rumi Okubo is Miri Yōbami
  • Ayahi Takagaki is Sumika Warakubami
  • Sayaka Kitahara is Nozomi Komabami
  • Mitsuki Saiga is Miloslava Honebami
  • Yoshimasa Hosoya is Ibara Obami
  • Akira Ishida is Rin Obami

JUNNA is performing the opening theme song, “Kono Yubi Tomare.” D-selections will perform the anime’s ending theme song “AlegriA.”

Kiyoshi Matsuda is joining Yuichiro Hayashi as director for the new season. Yasuko Kobayashi and Manabu Akita are returning as writer and character designer, respectively. MAPPA is again handling the animation.

The second season of Kakegurui is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television on January 8, 2019.

The Second Season of the Kakegurui Anime Is Scheduled to Premiere in January 2019

The September 2018 issue of Square Enix’s Gangan Joker has announced that the second anime season based on Homura Kawamoto and Tōru Naomura’s Kakegurui manga will debut in Japan in January 2019.

Kiyoshi Matsuda is joining Yuichiro Hayashi as director for the new season. Yasuko Kobayashi and Manabu Akita are returning as writer and character designer, respectively. MAPPA is again handling the animation.

The following cast members have been confirmed as returning for the second season:

The first season of Kakegurui premiered on television and Netflix in Japan in July 2017. The series premiered outside of Japan on Netflix in February 2018.

Netflix Lists the Kakegurui Anime for February 1, 2018 in the U.S. and the U.K.

Netflix is listing a February 1, 2018 release date for the first season of the Kakegurui anime in the United States and the United Kingdom. Netflix Japan began streaming the series on July 2, 2017, and Netflix announced in August 2017 that the series will premiere outside of Japan in 2018.

The anime adapts Homura Kawamoto and Tōru Naomura’s manga of the same name.

Netflix to Premiere Kakegurui Anime Outside of Japan in 2018

Netflix has announced that Kakegurui will premiere outside of Japan in 2018. In addition, it announced that its November 7, 2017 premiere date for Fate/Apocrypha will be for the United States and Canada only — the anime will premiere in all other territories outside of Japan on December 2, 2017.

Both Kakegurui and Fate/Apocrypha premiered on Japanese television on July 1, 2017.

Yen Press to Publish The Royal Tutor, Kakegurui, and Sekirei Manga in Print

Yen Press has announced that it will release its digital manga series The Royal Tutor, Kakegurui, and Sekirei in print. The first volume of The Royal Tutor is scheduled for May 2017, and the first volumes of Kakegurui and Sekirei are scheduled for July 2017.

Higasa Akai launched The Royal Tutor in Monthly G Fantasy in November 2013, and Yen Press began releasing the series as e-books in English in 2015.

Writer Homura Kawamoto and artist Tōru Naomura’s launched Kakegurui in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker magazine in March 2014. Yen Press began simultaneous digital publication of the series in October 2015.

Sakurako Gokurakuin launched the Sekirei manga in Young Gangan in 2004 and ended it in August 2015. Yen Press began releasing the series digitally in November 2015.
