Crunchyroll Adds the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Compilation Anime Films to Its Catalog

Crunchyroll has announced that it began streaming the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress compilation anime films, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: Light That Gathers and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: Life That Burns, on February 4, 2020 in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East.

The two compilation films premiered in December 2016 and January 2017, respectively, in Japan. The films cover the anime’s first season with some new and enhanced scenes. Crunchyroll screened the films in North American theaters in April 2017.

Crunchyroll Adds the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Anime to Its Streaming Catalog

Crunchyroll has announced that it is adding the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress television anime on November 1, 2019. The anime will stream in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East.

The “steampunk survival action” story takes place on the island country Hinomoto, where humans hide themselves in fortresses called stations against the threat of zombie-like beings with steel hearts known as “Kabane.” Only armored locomotives known as “Hayajiro” go between the stations.

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress aired on Japanese television from April to July 2016. The series streamed on Amazon Prime Video with English subtitles as it aired in Japan.

The series has also received two compilation films that premiered in December 2016 and January 2017 in Japan. The two films covered the anime’s first season with some new and enhanced scenes. Crunchyroll screened the films in North American theaters in April 2017.

Netflix to Add the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato Anime Film on September 13, 2019

Netflix has announced that it will begin streaming the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato (Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri: Unato Kessen) sequel anime film on September 13, 2019.

Tetsuro Araki returned to direct the film at Wit Studio, and is also the film’s scriptwriter. Haruhiko Mikimoto is credited with the original character design, and Hiroyuki Sawano returned to compose the music. EGOIST performed the theme song “Sakase ya Sakase.”

The film opened in Japan on May 10, 2019 and screened for a two-week limited engagement. The film opened at #10 at the box office in Japan and topped the mini-theater ranking in its opening weekend.

The original Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress television anime aired from April to July 2016. The series streamed on Amazon Prime Video with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress to Get Sequel Anime Film

It has been announced that the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato (Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri: Unato Kessen) sequel anime film will open in Japan in Spring 2019. The film will focus on the character of Mumei.

The film will take place half a year after the story of the original television anime series. The official website for the anime lists the film as the “middle volume.”

The Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress anime aired on Japanese television from April-July 2016. The series has also received two compilation films that premiered in December 2016 and January 2017 in Japan.

Six more English cast members have been announced for the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress anime:

  • Roger Craig Smith is Biba
  • Janice Kawaye is Mumei
  • Robbie Daymond is Ikoma

FUNimation Entertainment plans to release the series on a bilingual Blu-Ray Disc/DVD combo pack on January 16, 2018. The company will offer both regular and limited editions.

Two English Cast Members Announced for the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Anime

FUNimation Entertainment announced two of the English cast members for the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress anime at its Kumoricon panel.

The cast members are:

  • Veronica Taylor is Ayame
  • Ben Diskin is Takumi

FUNimation plans to release the series on a bilingual Blu-Ray Disc/DVD combo pack on January 16, 2018. The company will offer both regular and limited editions.

Crunchyroll to Screen Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Compilation Films in Theaters

Crunchyroll has announced that it plans to screen the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress compilation films in theaters in North America on April 26, 2017. Both films will screen in a double feature on the same day as part of Crunchyroll’s “Anime Movie Night” event series. Tickets will go on sale for the public on March 24, 2017 and for Crunchyroll premium members on March 21, 2017.

The compilation films, which cover the anime’s first season, premiered in Japan on December 31, 2016 and January 7, 2017. Both ran for two weeks in theaters. In addition to compiling footage from the television series, the films also include some new and enhanced scenes.
