Gundam Build Fighters Try Replaces Voice Actor for Ral-san

The official website for the Gundam Build Fighters Try anime has announced that voice actor Katsuhisa Houki will replace Masashi Hirose in the role of Ral-san, from the fifth episode onward. Hirose is being hospitalized for an extended stay in order to treat an unspecified illness.

Houki’s previous roles include Gecko Moria and Jimbei in One Piece, Conrad in Romeo × Juliet, Mahmai Moi in Toriko, Ben Jackson in Tiger & Bunny, Curry in Jormungand, and Raven in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

In both Gundam Build Fighters and Gundam Build Fighters Try, Hirose played Ral-san, a name that probably references his most famous role as Ramba Ral in the first Mobile Suit Gundam series and movie trilogy.

In other anime, Hirose has played Rikishiman in the Kinnikuman franchise, Hideyoshi Ushiromiya in Umineko When They Cry, Professor Tange in Honey and Clover, Kan Yu in Armored Trooper Votoms, and Riku Dold III in One Piece.
