Sentai Filmworks Licenses the Second and Third Parts of the Girls und Panzer das Finale Anime Films

Sentai Filmworks has announced that it has acquired Girls und Panzer das Finale Parts 2 and 3, the next exciting chapters in the follow-up film series to the fan favorite Girls und Panzer anime franchise. Sentai will distribute the movies to audiences in the United States and Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Scandinavia and Nordic countries.

It’s time to gear up for more earth shaking tankery action times two. In the next round of the Continuous Cup against BC Freedom Academy, the tide of battle turns on a dime, leaving the Oorai Girls Academy tank combat team scrambling for a leg up on the competition. And their next opponents in the tournament bracket, Chi-Ha-Tan Academy, are going to be even tougher. But the members of Oorai Girls Academy won’t go down without a fight no matter what tactics are thrown their way. Prepare for more explosive thrills and heavy caliber irreverence with Girls und Panzer das Finale – Part 2 and Girls und Panzer das Finale – Part 3.

Tsutomu Mizushima returns to direct the next installments in the Girls und Panzer das Finale movie series, which have been animated by studio Actas. The film stars Ikumi Nakagami as Yukari Akiyama, Mami Ozaki as Hana Isuzu, Mai Fuchigami as Miho Nishizumi, Yuka Iguchi as Mako Reizei, Ai Kayano as Saori Takebe, and Kana Ueda as Momo Kawashima.

Sentai will release the second and third Girls und Panzer das Finale movies in association with select digital outlets and on home video.

HIDIVE to Stream the Girls und Panzer Compilation: The 63rd National High School Sensha-do Games Anime Film

The Fandom Post is reporting that HIDIVE will begin streaming the Girls und Panzer Compilation: The 63rd National High School Sensha-do Games compilation film on July 2, 2021. The film will be available in the original Japanese audio with English subtitles in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, and Scandinavia.

The film is animated by studio Actas and stars Mai Fuchigami as Miho Nishizumi, Ai Kayano as Saori Takabe, Mami Ozaki as Hana Isuzu, Ikumi Nakagami as Yukari Akiyama and Yuka Iguchi as Mako Reizei.

The story of Girls und Panzer is described as:

Imagine a world where humanity lives on enormous carrier ships. In Girls und Panzer, not only do these community ships support entire towns, they also host military-themed sports events that use tanks. Popular among high school girls, tankery, as the sport is known, claims to make young women strong, graceful, and popular with boys.

Despite this, not every girl likes tankery. Miho Nishizumi comes from a long line of famous tankery practitioners, but a traumatic event drove her to abandon the sport. Manga creator Michio Murakawa has launched a new spin-off manga for the Girls und Panzer franchise titled Girls und Panzer Momi no Ki to Tetsu no Hane no Majo (Girls und Panzer: The Witch With Wings of Fir and Iron) on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website. The next chapter will debut on December 15, 2018.

The manga focuses on Noemi Kohiyama, a second-year student at Count High School, a school with no established reputation in the world of tankery. Her first match as a tank commander is against Saunders University High School. She directs the crew of her tank with her orders, and she follows the orders of their team leader. At that time, she remembers the words that her senior said to her.

Girls und Panzer’s First Finale Film Announces New Cast Members

New cast members have been announced for the forthcoming first of the six films for the Girls und Panzer das Finale project:

  • Yumi Hara is Mary
  • Minami Tsuda is Andō
  • Chika Anzai is Oshida
  • Ayane Sakura is “Mysterious New Character”

The film is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on December 9, 2017.

Girls und Panzer: Little Army Manga’s Sequel Begins in Comic Alive

The June 2015 issue of Media Factory’s Comic Alive magazine began serializing Tsuchii’s Girls und Panzer: Little Army II sequel manga on April 27, 2015.

Tsuchii began the original Girls und Panzer: Little Army spinoff manga in 2012 in Comic Alive, and ended the manga in 2013. A total of two compiled volumes were published. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the spinoff, as well as the main Girls und Panzer manga series.

The original Girls und Panzer anime series aired from 2012 to 2013. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime series as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for home video release. The franchise also includes OVAs, and a film will premiere in Japanese theaters on November 21, 2015.
