Love Live! Fest Event to Screen in U.S. Theaters on February 25, 2020

Fathom Events has announced that it will screen the Love Live! Series 9th Anniversary LOVE LIVE! FEST (Love Live! Fes) event in select theaters in the United States on February 25, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. local time.

The event took place at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan on January 18, 2020. The franchise’s idol groups Aquors, Saint Snow, and Nijigasaki Academy’s Idol Appreciation Club appeared at the event. The event also marked the reunion of the μ’s members after about three years and nine months.

The Love Live! Fes event announced that the franchise is launching a new project.

Fathom Events Confirms That the Ride Your Wave Anime Film Will Screen in the United States on February 19, 2020

Fathom Events has confirmed that it will screen Masaaki Yuasa’s Ride Your Wave anime film in the United States on February 19, 2020 for a one-night-only screening. The screening will be in Japanese with English subtitles. The company listing theater locations on its website.

Several theater chains had been listing earlier this week that they would screen the film on February 19, 2020.

Ride Your Wave opened in Japanese theaters on June 21, 2019.

Promare Anime Film to Get an Additional Screening in the United States on December 8, 2019

GKIDS and Fathom Events have announced that Trigger and XFlag’s Promare anime film will get an additional “Promare (Redux)” event screening in the United States on December 8, 2019 at 12:55 p.m. local time. The screening will have English subtitles and feature all-new bonus content.

GKIDS also confirmed that it will extend its screenings of the film into the next week at select locations in North America.

Crunchyroll and Fathom Events to Screen the KONOSUBA – God’s blessing on this wonderful world! Anime Film on November 12, 2019

Crunchyroll and Fathom Events have announced that they will screen the KONOSUBA – God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World– Legend of Crimson (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! Kurenai Densetsu) anime film as part of the Crunchyroll Movie Night events. The film will screen in over 600 theaters in the United States only on November 12, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. local time.

The film opened in Japan on August 30, 2019, and ranked at #8 in its debut weekend.

Fathom Events Lists Saga of Tanya the Evil Anime Film Screening in the United States

Fathom Events is listing a screening for the Saga of Tanya the Evil (Yōjo Senki) anime film in the United States on May 16, 2019. The listing states that the English-subtitled screening, part of Crunchyroll’s Crunchyroll Movie Night series, will include footage of an interview with the anime’s director Yutaka Uemura.

The film opened in Japan on February 8, 2019, and it earned 100 million yen (about US$906,285) in its first five days. The film has earned 200 million yen (about US$1.8 million) as of February 23, 2019. The anime’s 4DX screenings debuted in Japan on April 5, 2019.

GKIDS and Fathom Events Return with a New Studio Ghibli Series Lineup of Animated Masterpieces in U.S. Cinemas Throughout 2019

After kicking off in 2017 and returning for an even more successful 2018, STUDIO GHIBLI FEST is back for 2019. GKIDS, the distributor of multiple Academy Award®-nominated animated features, and Fathom Events are proud to continue their collaboration and deliver a new and expanded selection of celebrated animated films to U.S. cinemas throughout the year with STUDIO GHIBLI FEST 2019.

Featuring nine of Studio Ghibli’s masterpieces, the series kicks off with the 15th anniversary of the Academy Award®- nominated fantasy adventure Howl’s Moving Castle, and continues with the 35th anniversary of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Whisper of the Heart, the 30th anniversary of Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, The Secret World of Arrietty, the Academy Award®- winning Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and concludes with the Academy Award®- nominated The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.

The Second Fate/stay night Heaven’s Feel Film to Open in the United States on March 14, 2019

Aniplex of America has announced that it will debut Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel II. lost butterfly, the second film in the Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel anime film trilogy, at the Regal L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on February 23, 2019. Tickets for the February 23 screening will go on sale on January 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. PST, , and tickets for the nationwide release will go on sale January 25 through a venue to be announced later.

The film will screen at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. local time. Fathom Events will then open the film nationwide on March 14, 2019.

Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel opened in Japanese theaters on January 12, 2019.

Fathom Events to Screen the Mobile Suit Gundam NT Anime in U.S. Theaters With an English Dub

Fathom Events has announced that it is working with Sunrise to screen Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative (Kidō Senshi Gundam NT), the new anime project for the Gundam franchise, in the United States on February 19, 2019. Screenings will be English dubbed. Tickets for about 450 movie theaters will go on sale on January 18, 2019. Sunrise is working with NYAV Post to produce the English dub.

Shunichi Yoshizawa is directing the anime at Sunrise Studio #1. Harutoshi Fukui is writing the script. Kumiko Takahashi is in charge of the main original character designs, and Se Jun Kim is designing the characters for animation.

Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative opened in Japanese theaters on November 30, 2018, and ranked at #4 in its first weekend.

Eleven Arts to Re-screen the A Silent Voice Anime Film on January 28 and 31, 2019

Fathom Events has announced that Eleven Arts’ new screening of the anime film A Silent Voice will take place on January 28, 2019 (with subtitles) and January 31, 2019 (with an English dub).

Eleven Arts Anime Studio screened the film in the United States in Japanese with English subtitles in October 2017 and with an English dub in February 2018.

Naoko Yamada and Kyoto Animation’s anime film is based on Yoshitoki Ōima’s manga of the same name.

The First Episode of the Mob Psycho 100 II Anime Will Be Screened in U.S. Theaters

Crunchyroll has announced that it is teaming with Fathom Events for more installments in its Crunchyroll Movie Night theatrical event series in 2019. The first event for their collaboration will be a theatrical premiere of the first episode of Mob Psycho 100 II, along with the Mob Psycho 100 REIGEN: The Miraculous Unknown Psychic anime and a greeting from voice actor Setsuo Ito (Mob).

The screening will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 12:55 p.m. local time at more than 500 U.S. theaters. Tickets are on sale now for Crunchyroll subscribers and will go on sale for general audiences on December 7, 2018.
