14 Aniplex of America Releases to Go Out of Print

Aniplex of America has confirmed with Anime News Network that 14 of its releases will go out of print. Aniplex of America did not specify when the items will go out of print.

Anime News Network also asked Aniplex of America about several of the other titles listed on Right Stuf as being out of print, and Aniplex of America responded that “certain items will be out of print, but not necessarily those titles.”

Aniplex USA Announce Release Details for Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works and Durarara!!×2 Shō

Aniplex of America announced the release details for both Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works and Durarara!!×2 Shō during its panel at the 2015 Anime Expo.

Aniplex of America will release the first season of Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works in a limited-edition Blu-ray Disc box set and a complete first season DVD set on August 25, 2015. Both versions will include uncut episodes #00-#12, and will include Japanese and English audio as well as English and Spanish subtitles. The Blu-ray Disc set will include the 13 episodes on four Blu-ray Discs.

The limited edition Blu-ray Disc set will include the trailer, TV spot, commercial, and promo video collections, textless opening and ending, an original soundtrack I, a 24-page deluxe booklet, and an exclusive collectible Weis Schwarz PR card while supplies last. The limited edition will also include a double-sided wrap for the Blu-ray Disc case, and a chipboard box featuring an illustration by the original character designer Takashi Takeuchi.

The limited edition Blu-ray Disc box set will retail for US$219.98 with a store price of US$179.98.

The DVD set on three DVDs will include the textless opening and ending video extras. The set will retail for US$99.98 with a store price of US$79.98.

Aniplex of America plans to release Durarara!!×2 Shō on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in two releases on September 29, 2015 (with episodes 1-6) and November 24, 2015 (with episodes 7-12 and the bonus 4.5 episode). Both the DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases will include Japanese and English audio with English and Spanish subtitles.

Both the Blu-ray Disc and the DVD for volume 1 will include the following: pre-broadcast cast talk show, a textless opening and ending, a 16-page booklet, illustration postcards, a package illustrated by character designer Takahiro Kishida, and clear cases with two-sided wraps. The Blu-ray Disc will retail for US$99.98 with a store price of US$79.98, and the DVD will retail for US$59.98 with a store price of US$49.98. The second volumes will retail for the same prices.

The second volume of the Blu-ray Disc and DVD will include: a 16-page booklet, illustration postcards, a package illustrated by character designer Takahiro Kishida, and clear cases with two-sided wraps.

Anime Expo Announces Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works Special Event

Anime Expo has announced that it will host a special event with the Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works television anime’s cast and staff on Saturday, Jul. 4 at 1pm. The guests at the event, Q&A panels, and autograph sessions will include:

  • Ayako Kawasumi (voice actress of Saber)
  • Takahiro Miura (director of Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, ufotable)
  • Tomonori Sudou (character designer and animation director of Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, ufotable)
  • Hikaru Kondo (president & producer, ufotable)
  • Atsuhiro Iwakami (producer, Aniplex)
  • Aimer (singer of “Brave Shine” opening theme)
  • Mashiro Ayano (singer of “ideal white” opening theme)

This ticketed event will also premiere the English dub of Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works. It will also feature a talk session and live drawing with the staff and Kawasumi. Aimer and Ayano will perform at the event, and attendees will receive an exclusive Fate/stay night present.

Anime Expo will be taking place July 2-5, 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.

Sakura-Con Will Be Hosting the U.S. Premiere of the Second Season of Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works

Sakura-Con has announced that the convention will be screening the U.S. premiere of the second season of the Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works courtesy of Aniplex of America on April 3, 2015 at 7pm PT. This will effectively be 13 hours before its Japan debut at midnight on April 4, 2015 (technically, April 5, 2015). The screening will include “select episodes” from the upcoming season.

The Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works television anime follows the original game’s ‘Unlimited Blade Works’ route. Crunchyroll and Hulu simulcast the first season in English-speaking territories as it aired in Japan. Aniplex will release the first Blu-ray box set simultaneously in Japan and North America on March 25, 2015.

Sakura-Con will be taking place at the Washington State Convention Center from April 3-5, 2015.
