Discotek Media Announces Releases for September 2021

Discotek Media has announced that it will release Case Closed: The Darkest Nightmare (Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare), Super Dimension Century Orguss, Fatal Fury: The OVA Collection, and the second set of City Hunter 2 on Blu-ray Disc on September 28, 2021. The company will also release Galaxy Cyclone Braiger on standard definition Blu-ray Disc on the same day.

Discotek’s release of Case Closed: The Darkest Nightmare, the 20th anime movie in the Detective Conan series, will include Japanese audio with English subtitles, as well as a new English dub. The film originally premiered in Japan in April 2016.

The company will release all 35 episodes of Super Dimension Century Orguss on Blu-ray Disc in Japanese with English subtitles, and the release will also include the 17 English-dubbed episodes. The release will be remastered in 1080p. The anime originally aired in 1983-1984.

Discotek had the original film elements scanned to create a new 1080p Blu-Ray Disc release of Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf and Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle in Fatal Fury: The OVA Collection. Both OVAs will include English subtitles, the English dub, and several improvements, such as revised subtitles, original Japanese title sequences, and a restored missing scene from the second OVA. The missing scene will feature a new English dub. The release will also include a guided fan commentary by producer Brady Hartel and YouTuber Matt McMuscles.

The company’s second set of City Hunter 2 will include episodes 39-63. Discotek released the first Blu-ray Disc set of City Hunter 2 with the first 38 episodes with English subtitles. Discotek has licensed the City Hunter anime projects.

Discotek’s release of Galaxy Cyclone Braiger will feature all 39 episodes, uncut and in Japanese with English subtitles. The anime originally aired in 1981-1982.

Discotek Media Announces New Licenses

Discotek Media has announced that it has licensed the Shaman King, Lupin the Third: Part 5, Case Closed: The Darkest Nightmare (Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare), and Galaxy Cyclone Braiger anime.

The company will also release Super Dimension Century Orguss and Fatal Fury: The OVA Collection — the latter of which includes the Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf and Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle original video anime (OVA) — on Blu-ray Disc later in 2021.

The first part of Lupin the Third: Part 5, along with Case Closed: The Darkest Nightmare and Super Dimension Century Orguss, will launch on Blu-ray Disc later in 2021. Discotek will also release Shaman King and Galaxy Cyclone Braiger on standard definition Blu-ray Disc later in 2021.

Discotek’s standard definition Blu-ray Disc release of Shaman King will include all 64 episodes of the dubbed and edited version of the 2001 anime. The company will also launch a separate release of the anime’s uncut version in Japanese with English subtitles at a later date.

Discotek will release Lupin the Third: Part 5 on Blu-ray Disc in two parts. Both parts will include the subtitled and English-dubbed versions. The anime premiered in April 2018 and aired for 24 episodes.

RetroCrush Announces Debuts for April 2021

Digital Rights Media has announced the new titles and release dates for the anime titles that will stream on its RetroCrush streaming service in April 2021.

The titles will launch on consecutive Fridays in April 2021:

Crunchyroll Announces More Anime Additions to Its Streaming Library

Crunchyroll has announced that it is adding more anime to its service on February 25, 2021.

The service is launching Love Hina Again on February 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. PST. It will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

The story of the anime is described as:

Digital Media Rights has announced that it has licensed 11 new anime titles for its RetroCrush streaming service. The company also announced the release dates for the anime titles that will stream on its RetroCrush streaming service in October 2020.

The company lists that Allison & Lillia, Champion Joe: The Movie, Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, and the Saint Seiya films are exclusive licenses.

Discotek Licenses Hols, Prince of the Sun and Sherlock Hound

Discotek Media has announced that it will be releasing the Hols, Prince of the Sun anime film in December 2014.

The company also announced that it will be releasing the Sherlock Hound television anime series in a complete collection on DVD with the English dub and the Japanese audio with English subtitles on September 30, 2014.

The company also announced more forthcoming releases:

  • Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie with both the Japanese and English audio tracks on DVD on September 30, 2014. The film will be released on Blu-ray later in 2014.
  • The complete Megaman television anime series on September 30, 2014.
  • Fatal Fury OVA, which includes Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf and Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle on DVD with the English dub and Japanese audio track with new English subtitles on August 26, 2014.
  • Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture with a new widescreen anamorphic transfer, English dub, and Japanese audio track with new English subtitles on August 26, 2014.
  • Cybersix complete series with commentary by Cathy Weseluck and Brady Hartel on August 26, 2014.
  • A reissue of the Lupin the 3rd: Complete First Series Collection on May 27, 2014. The new edition will contain episodes 1-23 and the regular pilot film.

Discotek Media Announces Licenses

Discotek Media has announced that the company has acquired the licenses for the following anime titles:

  • DNA2
  • Lupin III: Bye Bye Liberty Crisis
  • Dragon Half
  • Fatal Fury OVA

The company says all of these titles are scheduled to be released in 2014, and that Lupin III: Bye Bye Liberty Crisis and Dragon Half will specifically be on DVD.

Discotek Announces New Licenses

Discotek Media has announced that the company has acquired the license for Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture and the Cybersix television anime series.

The company says it hopes to be able to create a 16:9 transfer of Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture from the film negatives, since an anamorphic release does not currently exist. Discotek is hoping to release the film in 2014, and the company is also planning to release Cybersix in 2014.
