Eleven Arts’ Announcements at Anime Expo 2022

Eleven Arts announced at its Anime Expo 2022 panel that it will rerelease the A Silent Voice anime film in theaters in North America on October 12, 2022 in honor of its fifth anniversary. The company will release the film in partnership with AX Cinema Nights in theaters across North America in Japanese and with an English dub.

A Silent Voice is described as:

A deaf elementary school girl, Shoko Nishimiya, upon transferring, meets a boy named Shoya Ishida in her new class. Shoya, who is not deaf, leads the class in bullying Shoko, because she is deaf. As the bullying continues, the class starts to bully Shoya for bullying Shoko. After graduating from elementary school, Shoko and Shoya do not speak to each other… until later, when Shoya, tormented over his past, decides he must see Shoko once more. Shoya wants to make amends for what he did in elementary school and be Shoko’s friend.

The company also announced that it will release both the Japanese version and English dub of The House of the Lost on the Cape anime film in partnership with AX Cinema Nights in theaters across North America on September 7, 2022.

The House of the Lost on the Cape is described as:

17-year-old run-away Yui and 8-year-old Hiyori, who lost her family and her voice, have no place to go when they run into Kiwa, a strange old lady. She offers them a place to stay, in a slightly banged-up old house overlooking the sea, a Mayoiga. Despite joining Kiwa on a whim, the two girls find comfort in Mayoiga, a legendary house, said to look after lost travelers, and the warm hospitality of Kiwa. Both girls’ damaged hearts begin to heal little by little. Until one day, a variety of strange beings which Kiwa calls “Fushigitto” begin popping up around the house.

Eleven Arts Acquires the Distribution Rights for The House of the Lost on the Cape Anime Film

Los Angeles based film distribution and production company, Eleven Arts, announced their acquisition of the North American distribution rights for The House of the Lost on the Cape anime film during their Industry Panel at A-Kon 2022.

The House of the Lost on the Cape is based on the award-winning Japanese novel by Sachiko Kashiwaba. The novel was originally serialized in the Iwate Nippo daily newspaper from May 2014 to July 2015, and later published by Kodansha. The novel won the 54th Noma Children’s Literature Award in 2016. The film adaptation, along with other anime films, was released in 2021 as part of the Continuing Support Project 2011+10, which marked the 10th anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

The film tells the story of Yui, Hiyori and Kiwa, three complete strangers that come to live together and their hearts begin to heal. Shinya Kawatsura directed the film, and Reiko Yoshida wrote the screenplay. The film was animated by david production. Earlier in 2022 the film won Best Animation Film at the 76th Annual Mainichi Film Awards. Recently, the film was nominated as an Official Selection for the 2022 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Eleven Arts Acquires the Distribution Rights for the Deemo Memorial Keys Anime Film

Los Angeles based film distribution and production company, Eleven Arts, announced their acquisition of the North American distribution rights for the DEEMO Memorial Keys anime film during their Industry Panel at A-Kon 2022.

DEEMO Memorial Keys is based on the internationally acclaimed rhythm game developed by Rayark Inc., a Taiwanese game developer. The game, with over 28 million downloads as of 2021, was released on November 13, 2013 for Apple devices, and on December 27, 2013 for Android devices. Since its debut, Deemo was nominated for “Best of 2013” for independent developer by the App Store Taiwan, and later named “Best Game Music” by Google Play Taiwan. Additionally, the song “I Race the Dawn” won Outstanding Achievement – Vocal Theme Award at the 2013 Annual Game Music Awards. Deemo‘s popularity has triggered multiple projects including the film adaption, manga, and the release of its sequel, Deemo II.

This 3DCG film adaptation tells the tale of a bittersweet love story between Deemo, a mysterious lonely character who plays the piano, and Alice, a young girl who has lost her memory. The film was animated by Production I.G and Signal.MD. Shūhei Matsushita directed the film along with Junichi Fujisaku, as general director. The film’s theme song named “nocturne” was produced by Yuki Kajiura, a renowned composer who has worked on scores for numerous anime works including Fate/Zero and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. This must-see film is full of charming characters, old and new, and illustrates the beautiful and melancholy world of Deemo.

Eleven Arts Acquires the North American Distribution Rights for the Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis Anime Film

Eleven Arts has announced that it has acquired the North American distribution rights for the Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis 3DCG anime film. The company will announce release information and ticket sales at a later date.

The film’s story begins with the main lead Ryōma arriving in the United States, and finding Sakuno Ryūzaki being accosted by a “tennis gang.” Ryōma swings a ball at them to help Sakuno, but ends up hitting a ball tossed by a mysterious wheelchaired man. At that moment, Ryōma and Sakuno somehow travel back in time to the time when Ryōma’s father Nanjiro was still playing in America as “Samurai Nanjiro.”

Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis opened in Japanese theaters on September 3, 2021.

Eleven Arts has announced that it will screen Studio 4°C’s Poupelle of Chimney Town anime film across North America starting on January 7, 2022. The company is first hosting screenings in New York City and Los Angeles on December 30, 2021.

Eleven Arts produced the English dub for the film that debuted in its screening at the Animation Is Film festival in Los Angeles on October 23, 2021. Director Yusuke Hirota and writer Akihiro Nishino had a virtual Q&A after the screening of the film at the festival.

Gintama The Very Final Anime Film to Be Released on Home Video on February 8, 2022 and Digitally on January 25, 2022

Eleven Arts and Shout! Factory have announced that they will release the Gintama The Very Final anime film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on February 8, 2022 and digitally on January 25, 2022. The physical release will include a 16-page booklet with character art and storyboards.

Eleven Arts screened the film in North American theaters on November 21-22, 2021 in Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub. The company premiered the English dub at New York Comic Con on October 9, 2021.

Gintama The Very Final opened at #1 in Japan in January and ended Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train‘s 12 consecutive weekends at the top of the Japanese box office.
