The Final Issue of Dengeki G’s Comic Magazine Reveals the Fate of Its Serialized Manga

The May 2019 issue of Kadokawa’s Dengeki G’s Comic magazine has announced the fates of the manga in the magazine. The May 2019 issue was the final issue of the magazine.

The issue published the last chapters of the Yoake no Boogiepop, Little Busters! Last of Refrain, and Oracle Sentai Seigas manga.

The following manga will continue on ComicWalker and Niconico Seiga starting in April 2019:

  • Ane Naru Mono
  • Angel Beats: The Lost Operation
  • Granblue Fantasy Gaiden: Tsuioku no Aciveil
  • Sword Art Online: Progressive – Hōei no Barcarole
  • Hōkii Bekakon
  • Mahō Tsukai no Insatsusho

The magazine originally began digitally with an “issue 0” in August 2012, before debuting as a print magazine spin-off of Dengeki G’s Magazine in April 2014. The inaugural print issue was cover-dated June 2014.

Dengeki G’s Comic Magazine to End Regular Print Publication

The April 2019 issue of Kadokawa’s Dengeki G’s Comic magazine has announced that the magazine will end its regular print publication, with the last print issue being the May 2019 issue on March 30, 2019. The magazine will instead serialize its manga on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker service and the Niconico Seiga service as a web publication.

The announcement cited “recent market conditions” and “changes in the way people read manga” as the reasons for the cancellation of the magazine in print.

The magazine originally began digitally with an “issue 0” in August 2012, before debuting as a print magazine spin-off of Dengeki G’s Magazine in April 2014. The inaugural print issue was cover-dated June 2014.

Manga that has run in Dengeki G’s Magazine include Love Live!, Charlotte, Angel Beats!, Release the Spyce, Ro-Kyu-Bu!, Garakowa -Restore the World-, Punch Line, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero, Tenka Hyakken, Little Busters!, Boogiepop and Others, Seishun Buta Yarō wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai, Plastic Memories, Sword Art Online, Rewrite, and Tenshi no 3P!.

Dengeki G’s Comic Announces Forthcoming Manga

The February 2016 issue of Kadokawa’s Dengeki G’s Comic has announced that the magazine will publish new manga based on Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen, Shōjo-tachi wa Kōya o Mezasu, Love Live! School Idol Diary, BanG Dream!, and Ange Vierge.

The Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen manga will begin in the March 2016 issue on January 30, 2016. Kosaka Taira is drawing the series based on AQUAPLUS’ story.

The Shōjo-tachi wa Kōya o Mezasu manga will premiere in the April 2016 issue on February 29, 2016. Kazuchi will draw the series with Matsuryū’s character designs.

The tentatively-titled Love Live! School idol diary 2nd season manga will also debut in the April 2016 issue on February 29, 2016. It will be the second manga to adapt Sakurako Kimino’s Love Live! School idol diary novel series with illustrations by Yūhei Murota. Shōji Shibasaki is drawing the series.

BanG Dream! is a mixed-media project that Bushiroad launched in January 2015. Hakuto Shiroi will draw the manga based on an original plan by Kō Nakamura and character designs by Hitowa. The manga will begin in 2016.

The new Ange Vierge manga is scheduled for early 2016. Sakaki Yoshioka is drawing the series.

Ange Vierge is a trading card game released by two Kadokawa brands, Fujimi Shobo and Media Factory.
