Discotek Media Announces Three New Anime Licenses

Discotek Media has announced that it has licensed the Ninja Scroll television anime series, the Lupin III: Goodbye Partner anime special, and the Astroganger television anime series.

The company will release Ninja Scroll on Blu-ray Disc on June 30, 2020. The release will include 1080p high definition video, English subtitles, and an English dub.

Discotek will release Lupin III: Goodbye Partner on June 30, 2020 on Blu-ray Disc with English subtitles and a new English dub.

Astroganger will be released on SD Blu-ray Disc on June 30, 2020 with English subtitles.

The company also announced that it will release the previously announced City Hunter Season 1 series on Blu-ray Disc on June 30, 2020 in 1080p high definition. The release will feature English subtitles and all 25 episodes in the season.

In addition, Discotek will release Crusher Joe: The Movie on Blu-ray Disc on June 30, 2020. The release will include English subtitles and an English dub. The release will also include both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios on two discs with 1080p high definition video.

Crusher Joe REBIRTH Manga to Get New Series in Spring 2019

This year’s third issue of Kodansha’s Evening magazine has announced that Crusher Joe REBIRTH, Isuke Hari’s manga adaptation of Haruka Takachino’s science fiction novel series Crusher Joe, will take a break and resume in Spring 2019 with a new series, the “Final Hidden Treasure of the Milky Way” arc.

The magazine also revealed that Kodansha will publish the second compiled book volume of the series in March 2019. The company published the first compiled book volume on September 21, 2018.

Crusher Joe REBIRTH launched in Evening magazine in September 2017.

Crusher Joe to Get New Manga Adaptation

This year’s 18th issue of Kodansha’s Evening magazine has announced that Haruka Takachino’s science fiction novel series Crusher Joe will get a new manga adaptation. The manga, titled Crusher Joe REBIRTH, is by Isuke Hari, and it will premiere in the 19th issue of the magazine. The issue goes on sale on September 12, 2017. The announcement included comments from the artist for the original manga series Fujihiko Hosono.

Takachino and Hosono previously adapted Crusher Joe into a manga in 1979.
