Tubi TV Adds the Original Cardfight! Vanguard Anime To Its Catalog

The Fandom Post is reporting that Tubi TV has added the original Cardfight! Vanguard anime to its catalog. All 65 episodes of the original series are now available with an English dub.

Plot concept for Cardfight! Vanguard:

Aichi Sendou is a timid young boy in his third year of junior high school. The one thing that keeps him going is his trading card Blaster Blade from CARDFIGHT!! Vanguard, a trading card game that takes place on a different planet called Cray and is popular throughout the world.

Crunchyroll Has Added the Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if- Anime to Its Simulcast Lineup

Crunchyroll added the Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if- anime to its streaming lineup on August 21, 2020. The series launched with Episode 13, and will stream every Friday.

Episodes 1-12 will also be available shortly before launch.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if- is available worldwide excluding Japan.

Plot synopsis for Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if-:

Kouji Ibuki is a Vanguard Fighter.
One day, Ibuki was called out to the Tatsunagi residence, when he was suddenly transported to the “if” world.
But the “if” world has a distorted history, where cardfighting doesn’t exist!?

In the “if” world, Ibuki met with some mysterious girls.
The magical girl Emi Sendou, and the fairy of the cards Shuka.
They are the “Blaster Pair” that summons units from cards in their battle against the evil minions of Jammer!

And so the quartet of Ibuki, Emi, Shuka and Suiko Tatsunagi who was caught up in the situation, begin their journey to recover the true history.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime to Continue with a New Season in May 2019

Bushiroad has announced that its current Cardfight!! Vanguard anime will end in April 2019, and will continue on with the Cardfight!! Vanguard: High School Arc Cont. anime in May 2019. The new series will tell new stories for the characters Kourin Tatsunagi, Kai Toshiki, and Kouji Ibuki, and will take place “after the resolution of the crisis wrought by the main antagonist Brandt that is currently airing.”

Raise A Sulien, the third live band from Bushiroad’s BanG Dream! franchise, will perform the opening and ending themes for the new anime.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime’s English Dub to Take Two Week Hiatus

The official Facebook page of the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise has announced that the English-dubbed episode releases of the anime will take a two week hiatus. The English-subtitled episode releases will continue without a hiatus.

The English dub for the anime premiered on the anime’s official YouTube channel on May 25, 2018.

The series debuted on Japanese television on May 5, 2018.

English Dub of the New Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime to Premiere on May 25, 2018

Bushiroad has announced that the English dub for the new Cardfight!! Vanguard anime series will premiere on the anime’s official YouTube channel on May 25, 2018 at 9:30 p.m. EDT. New episodes will stream on Fridays at the same time.

The series will premiere on Japanese television on May 5, 2018. The official YouTube channel will stream the series with English subtitles starting on May 5, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. EDT, and Crunchyroll will stream the series with English subtitles starting on May 5, 2018 at 8:40 a.m. EDT. Both websites will update with new episodes on Saturdays.

Bushiroad does not list that Crunchyroll will stream the English dub version.

Cardfight!! Vanguard to Get New Spin-off Manga Series

A new Cardfight!! Vanguard spin-off manga titled Another Vanguard: Seidō no Asuka will launch in the January 2018 issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Bushiroad magazine. “Another Vanguard” is a new label for the Cardfight!! Vanguard manga.

The manga is an expansion of Haruha Mitsukoshi’s Cardfight!! Vanguard SS (Shooting Star) manga, which won Bushiroad’s Vanguard Manga Contest in June 2017 and appeared in Monthly Bushiroad in three parts earlier this year. Mitsukoshi is drawing the manga and Kabuto Chūjō is handling composition.

Voice Actress Shannon Burgess Found Dead

Anime News Network cites a report from CTV News Calgary that Calgary police had found the remains of actress and voice actress Shannon Burgess (née Madill) on Friday, July 3, 2015. Shannon had been reported missing since November 2014. Police located her body in the home she shared with her husband, Joshua Burgess, in Calgary, Alberta in Canada.

Joshua is in custody and has been charged with one count of second degree murder in relation to the investigation of Shannon’s death.

A family spokesman said the couple was separated and still living together, but a family friend told The Calgary Herald, “It was just bumps in the road, it wasn’t really anything. They weren’t going through a divorce or anything like that.”

Shannon played the role of Reiji Uno in the Cardfight!! Vanguard: Link Joker Hen television anime series. She also worked as a performance artist and standup comedian.

Shannon did not arrive at a scheduled meeting with her brother at StageWest on November 30, 2014, and was reported missing by her family the next day.

Shannon was 25 years old at the time of her disappearance.

Anime Expo Announces Premieres and More Guests

Anime Expo’s schedule lists the English dub premiere of Sailor Moon Crystal on July 3. 2015 at 6pm, and the U.S. premiere of Cardfight!! Vanguard the Movie: Neon Messiah (Gekijōban Cardfight!! Vanguard: Neon Messiah) on July, 2015 4 at 9:45am. Cardfight!! Vanguard the Movie‘s English language producer Shunichi Taira will introduce the screening, and “Cardfight!! Vanguard evangelist Dr. O” will hold a Q&A session afterwards.

Anime Expo is also premiering Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade, the English dub of Aldnoah.Zero, and the English dub of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Anime Expo has also announced that it will host Pony Canyon’s producer Shinichi Nakamura and music producer Yoshifumi Yarimizu. The two will take part in the PONYCAN USA industry panel on July 3, 2015 at 11:00am.

Anime Expo will be taking place July 2-5, 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.

New Cardfight!! Vanguard Manga to Start in April 2015

The April 2015 issue of Monthly Bushiroad magazine has revealed that Akira Ito will launch a sequel to the Cardfight!! Vanguard G manga in the next issue of the magazine, which will ship in Japan on April 7, 2015.

The Cardfight!! Vanguard and its spinoff manga series, Cardfight!! Vanguard G, began serialization in Monthly Bushiroad in 2013, although Ito launched the main Cardfight!! Vanguard manga in Kadokawa’s Kerokero Ace magazine in 2010. The eighth Cardfight!! Vanguard volume shipped in Japan in August 2014. North American publisher Vertical licensed the manga in 2013 and released the fifth volume in February 2015.

Cardfight!! Vanguard co-creator Takaaki Kidani had said in 2014 that the franchise will get fifth, sixth and seventh seasons. The current Cardfight!! Vanguard G anime is the fifth season. Crunchyroll has been simulcasting the anime subtitled as it airs in Japan.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Getting Live-Action/Anime Film and Fourth Anime Series

It was announced at the “Cardfight!! Vanguard Special Conference” event that there will be a hybrid live-action/anime film for the franchise in Fall 2014. In addition, it was also announced that a fourth television anime series, Legion Mate-Hen will be premiering next spring.

DAIGO, Suzuka Mimori, Taizo Shiina, and Takuma Sueno return to the franchise for the live-action portion of the film.

The Legion Mate-Hen series will continue the story from the ongoing third series, Cardfight!! Vanguard: Link Joker Hen.
