FUNimation Entertainment to Simulcast the Second Season of the CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress Anime in Fall 2021

FUNimation Entertainment has announced that it will simulcast the second season of the CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress anime during the Fall 2021 anime season. Episode 0 of the new season will officially arrive on the service on October 14, 2021, kicking off the series’ second season.

The second season of the series is described as:

Yu-yu Kondo loses to Tohya Ebata, and the banner that symbolizes Team Blackout goes up in ashes.

And while Yu-yu and his friends are still stunned by this turn of events, their leader Danji Momoyama returns and challenges Tohya to a Vanguard fight, a fight that ends in a clear victory for Danji.

As the group starts to shower Tohya with a deluge of jeers, Danji announces his departure from the team, and follows it up with appointing Tohya as the next leader, leaving the team members in shock.

Meanwhile, Masanori and Shinobu continue their banner hunt under the name of Team Daybreak, under the command of Haruka Sokawa.

And there is also the mysterious girl, Mirei Minae.

What awaits Yu-yu and his friends?

CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress Anime to Get a Third and a Fourth Season

At the fall 2021 TCG strategy presentation held on September 14, 2021, Bushiroad announced the third and fourth seasons of CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress have already been already in the works.

The first season of CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress aired for 12 episodes from April 3-June 26, 2021, and its 13 episode second season is set to premiere in Japan on October 4, 2021. Sentai Filmworks has acquired the license for the anime, and it is available for streaming on HIDIVE.

HIDIVE to Stream the English Dub of the Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress Anime

HIDIVE has announced that it will begin streaming the English dub of the Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress anime on July 9, 2021.

The story of the series is described as:

The next installment in the Cardfight!! Vanguard series is here with CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress, an anime series based on the latest set of collectible trading cards released in the “Cardfight!! Vanguard” multimedia project. The series chronicles 15-year-old Yu-yu as he discovers the nocturnal amusement park known as Wonder Hill, where the members of Team Blackout gather to play Vanguard each night. Sentai Filmworks has announced that it has acquired the license for the CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress anime. The company has the distribution rights in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Sentai also announced that CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress will begin streaming on HIDIVE on April 2, 2021.

Tubi TV Adds the Original Cardfight! Vanguard Anime to Its Catalog

The Fandom Post is reporting that Tubi TV has added the original Cardfight! Vanguard anime to its catalog. All 65 episodes of the original series are now available with an English dub.

The story of Cardfight! Vanguard is described as:

Aichi Sendou is a timid young boy in his third year of junior high school. The one thing that keeps him going is his trading card Blaster Blade from CARDFIGHT!! Vanguard, a trading card game that takes place on a different planet called Cray and is popular throughout the world.

Crunchyroll Has Added the Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if- Anime to Its Simulcast Lineup

Crunchyroll added the Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if- anime to its streaming lineup on August 21, 2020. The series launched with Episode 13, and will stream every Friday.

Episodes 1-12 will also be available shortly before launch.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if- is available worldwide excluding Japan.

The story of Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if- is described as:

Kouji Ibuki is a Vanguard Fighter.
One day, Ibuki was called out to the Tatsunagi residence, when he was suddenly transported to the “if” world.
But the “if” world has a distorted history, where cardfighting doesn’t exist?

In the “if” world, Ibuki met with some mysterious girls.
The magical girl Emi Sendou, and the fairy of the cards Shuka.
They are the “Blaster Pair” that summons units from cards in their battle against the evil minions of Jammer.

And so the quartet of Ibuki, Emi, Shuka and Suiko Tatsunagi who was caught up in the situation, begin their journey to recover the true history.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime to Continue with a New Season in May 2019

Bushiroad has announced that its current Cardfight!! Vanguard anime will end in April 2019, and will continue on with the Cardfight!! Vanguard: High School Arc Cont. anime in May 2019. The new series will tell new stories for the characters Kourin Tatsunagi, Kai Toshiki, and Kouji Ibuki, and will take place “after the resolution of the crisis wrought by the main antagonist Brandt that is currently airing.”

Raise A Sulien, the third live band from Bushiroad’s BanG Dream! franchise, will perform the opening and ending themes for the new anime.
