Masashi Kishimoto to Take Over as the Writer for the Boruto Manga

The official Twitter account for Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto franchise has announced that Boruto manga storywriter Ukyō Kodachi will retire from the manga, and Kishimoto himself will take over as storywriter. The Twitter account stated that this change was “planned from the beginning.” Kishimoto will take over the role starting with the 52nd chapter, which Shueisha will publish in the December 2020 issue of V Jump on November 21, 2020.

Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto launched the Boruto sequel manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016, and the manga ran monthly in the magazine. The manga transferred to Shueisha’s V Jump magazine in July 2019.

The Boruto and Rock Lee Anime Are Listed as Airing on the Canadian French-Language Channel UNIS TV

The official website of the Canadian French-language channel UNIS TV is listing that the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals anime will begin airing on September 12, 2020. Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals will premiere at 8:00 a.m. EDT, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will debut at 8:30 a.m. EDT.

The Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals anime premiered in Japan in April 2012. The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime premiered in Japan in April 2017.

FUNimation Entertainment to Stream the Naruto Shippuden and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Anime in the United Kingdom and Ireland

FUNimation Entertainment has announced that it began streaming the Naruto Shippūden and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime on July 1, 2020 in the United Kingdom and Ireland. All episodes of Naruto Shippūden and the first 51 episodes of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will be available on the streaming service both in Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub.

The company began streaming the Naruto television anime in the United Kingdom and Ireland in October 2019. All episodes are available both with English subtitles and a dub.

FUNimation announced its acquisition of Manga Entertainment Limited, a distributor of anime including Naruto in the United Kingdom and Ireland, in May 2019. The FUNimation subsidiary is offering more than 900 hours of subtitled and dubbed content, and most of the titles are available streaming in the United Kingdom and Ireland on FunimationNow.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Anime to Air New Episode on July 5, 2020 After COVID-19 Delay

This year’s 30th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime will resume with new episodes beginning on July 5, 2020, and will enter the previously announced “Kara Shidō-hen” (Kara Begins Arc) on July 19 with the 157th episode.

New episodes of the anime were delayed beginning on May 3, 2020 due to the state of emergency declared against the spread of COVID-19. The show was scheduled to air its 155th episode on that day, but instead began rerunning the show from the first episode.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Anime Delays New Episodes Due to COVID-19

The official website for the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime has announced that new episodes of the anime will be delayed from May 3, 2020 onwards due to the state of emergency declared against the spread of COVID-19. The series was scheduled to air its 155th episode on that day, but will now begin re-running the show from the first episode instead. The 154th episode scheduled for April 26, 2020 will still air.

The announcement noted that the spread of the disease and the subsequent state of emergency declaration in Japan has made production on new episodes of the anime difficult.

Crunchyroll to Stream Naruto to Boruto The Live 2019 Event

Crunchyroll has announced that it will stream the NARUTO to BORUTO THE LIVE 2019 event on October 9, 2019 from 9:00 p.m. EDT to October 10, 2019 at 9:00 p.m. EDT. The limited streaming event will be available through the service in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East.

The two-day NARUTO to BORUTO THE LIVE 2019 event was held on October 5 and October 6, 2019 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture. The event commemorated the 20th anniversary of Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto manga.

The event featured musical performances of the Naruto anime’s theme songs by FLOW, KANA-BOON, Game-Jikkyōsha Wakuwaku Band, Little Glee Monster, SNOWKEL, DISH//, and FUJIFABRIC. The event also featured anime cast members’ readings of original story episodes. The cast present at the event included Junko Takeuchi (Naruto), Noriaki Sugiyama (Sasuke), Chie Nakamura (Sakura), Nana Mizuki (Hinata), Yuko Sanpei (Boruto), Cocoro Kikuchi (Sarada), Ryūichi Kijima (Mitsuki), and Kensho Ono (Shikadai).

Boruto Manga to Transfer to V Jump Magazine

This year’s 28th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that Ukyō Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto’s Boruto manga is transferring to Shueisha’s V Jump magazine. The next chapter will launch in V Jump’s September issue on July 20, 2019.

Kodachi and Ikemoto launched the Boruto sequel manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016, and the manga ran monthly in the magazine.

Boruto Anime to Adapt the Naruto: Konoha Shinden: Yukemuri Ninpōchõ Novel in New Arc

This year’s combined 22nd and 23rd issues of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime will adapt the Naruto: Konoha Shinden: Yukemuri Ninpōchõ novel starting on May 12, 2019.

The novel has three protagonists — Guy, Kakashi, and Mirai (the daughter of Asuma and Kurenai) — and takes place at a hot spring. The novel “ties together Naruto and Boruto,” and is set between the final chapter of the original Naruto manga and the Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring spin-off manga. Shō Hinata wrote the novel, which shipped in Japan in August 2016.
