VIZ Media Announces Special Guests, Activities and Retail Exclusives for Anime Central 2019

VIZ Media will participate in this year’s Anime Central, which takes place from May 17-19, 2019 in Rosemont, Illinois at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and the adjacent Hyatt Regency O’Hare. VIZ Media will be located in Booth #IND 7 in the Exhibit Hall. Complete details on Anime Central 2019 are available at: acen.org.

Attendees are invited to join VIZ Media in welcoming Megalobox English voice cast members Kaiji Tang and Lex Lang, who will participate in a panel and signing session. Fan favorites from Sailor Moon, Stephanie Sheh and Sandy Fox, will also attend as special guests. Join them at a variety of convention activities.

ACen attendees will learn the latest on a wide range of upcoming releases and other news during the official VIZ Media and SHONEN JUMP panels and celebrate the Guardians of Love and Justice at the Official Sailor Moon panel. Throughout the weekend, the VIZ Media booth will offer a wide variety of retail products available for purchase. VIZ will also host fun booth activities including a Sailor Moon-themed photo-opportunity.

Anime Central Announces Kiyono Yasuno as Guest

Anime Central has announced that voice actress Kiyono Yasuno will be a guest at their upcoming convention.

Yasuno made her major debut in 2011 as Kizuna Todoroki in the Kizuna Ichigeki anime film. Her other roles include Macross Delta‘s Kaname Buccaneer, Aikatsu!‘s Sakura Kitaōji, Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend‘s Megumi Katō, Wake Up, Girls!‘s Tina Kobayakawa, Ushio & Tora‘s Mayuko Inoue, and Overlord II‘s Renner.

Anime Central Hosts the U.S. Premiere of the Second Made in Abyss Compilation Film

Sentai Filmworks has announced that its release of Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight (Made in Abyss: Hōrō Suru Tasogare), the second Made in Abyss compilation anime film, will premiere at this year’s Anime Central event on May 17, 2019 at 8:30 p.m. The premiere will include a red carpet event, and director Masayuki Kojima, music producer Hiromitsu Iijina, and composer Kevin Penkin will attend a Q&A session.

Anime Central 2019 will take place from May 17-19, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

Anime Central Announces Atsushi Nakayama, Ryoma Ebata, and Miho Okasaki as Guests

Anime Central has announced that it will host from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Assistant Director Atsushi Nakayama, Character Designer Ryoma Ebata, and the voice of Rimuru Miho Okasaki at this year’s event.

Nakayama has also worked on Knight’s & Magic, Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, and Absolute Duo.

Ebata has also worked on Busou Shinki, Absolute Duo, Dimension W, Macross Frontier, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Okasaki’s other credits include Music Girls, Bloom Into You, and Hi Score Girl.

Anime Central Announces Helen McCarthy as Guest

Anime Central has announced that Helen McCarthy will be a guest at at this year’s event.

McCarthy has been researching and writing about Japanese popular culture since 1981. After a decade hearing that there was “no interest in that sort of thing” she founded a magazine, Anime UK, to disprove the claim. Her first book was published just over a year later, and she’s been writing about anime, manga and Japan ever since. These include a biography of Osamu Tezuka, two drawing manuals, and co-authorship of The Anime Encyclopedia.

Anime Central Announces Natsumi Takamori as Guest

Anime Central has announced that voice actress Natsumi Takamori will be a guest at their upcoming convention.

Takamori’s credits include The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls‘ Miku Maekawa, Another‘s Mei Misaki, Brave Witches‘ Nikka Edvardine Katajainen, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou‘s Misaki Kamiigusa, Denki-Gai‘s Hio-tan, High School DxD‘s Souna Sitri, Orange‘s Azusa Murasaka, Hōkago no Pleiades‘ Subaru, and Milky Holmes‘ Ellery Himeyuri.

She has also performed theme songs for such anime as The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Brave Witches, Denki-Gai, Hōkago no Pleiades, Jewelpet Twinkle, Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future, and The Pet Girl of Sakurasou.
