Animazement Announces Masao Maruyama and Masuo Ueda as Guests

Animazement has announced that producer Masao Maruyama and A-1 Pictures president Masuo Ueda will be guests at this year’s convention.

Maruyama was involved in the establishment of MADHOUSE in 1972. Since then, he has nurtured talents such as Tetsuro Araki, Atsuko Ishizuka and the late Satoshi Kon. Among the anime he has produced are Unico, Ninja Scroll, Card Captor Sakura, Monster, Death Note, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Paprika, Redline, and Supernatural the Animation. Maruyama left MADHOUSE in 2011 to form MAPPA, and then stepped down as CEO in April 2016 and founded his new Studio M2 in the same year.

Ueda began working at Nippon Sunrise (now known as Sunrise) in 1979, then began working at Aniplex in 2003. He became president and CEO of A-1 Pictures in 2010. He is also a representative and planning producer for Skyfall, LLC.

Animazement will be taking place May 26-26, 2019 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Animazement Announces Hiroaki Hirata, Ryusei Nakao, Keiko Han, Masuo Ueda, and Hidetaka Tenjin as Guests

Animazement has announced that voice actors Hiroaki Hirata, Ryusei Nakao, and Keiko Han will be guests at their next convention. In addition, A-1 Pictures director Masuo Ueda and mechanical illustrator and designer Hidetaka Tenjin will also be in attendance.

Hirata’s anime roles include Sanji in One Piece, Benny in Black Lagoon, Mutta Namba in Space Brothers, Sha Gojyo in the Saiyuki anime franchise, Kotetsu T. Kaburagi in Tiger & Bunny, and Klein in Sword Art Online.

Nakao’s credits include Frieza in Dragon Ball Z, Baikinman in the Soreike! Anpanman franchise, Isami Nishimura in Touch, Caesar Clown in One Piece, and Kurotsuchi Mayumi in Bleach.

Han’s credits include Lalah Sune in Mobile Suit Gundam, Athena in Saint Seiya, Luna in Sailor Moon, and Sheila in The World Is Still Beautiful.

Ueda began working at Aniplex in 2003, and currently serves as its chairman. He became President and CEO of A-1 Pictures in 2010, and is also the director of The Association of Japanese Animation (AJA).

Tenjin is a illustrator and mechanical artist whose credits include Macross Zero, Aquarion, Noein – to your other self, Hellsing Ultimate, and Macross Frontier. He also drafted mechanical art for the Gundam and Space Battleship Yamato franchises.

Japanese Guests Announced for Animazement

Animazement has announced that voice actress Aya Hirano, animator Shingo Adachi, and Aniplex producer Shinichiro Kashiwada will be guests at their upcoming convention.

Hirano’s credits include The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Kiddy Grade, Death Note, Fairy Tail, Eyeshield 21, Parasyte -the maxim-, and Gatchaman Crowds.

Adachi’s credits include Sword Art Online, Wagnaria!!, and Galilei Donna.

Kashiwada’s credits include Sword Art Online, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Oreimo, World Conquest Zvezda Plot, The irregular at magic high school, and Nanana’s Buried Treasure.

Animazement will be taking place May 27-29, 2016 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In addition, the convention also announced that producer Shin Sasaki and MADHOUSE co-founder Masao Maruyama will also be attending.

Maruyama is one one of the co-founders of Studio MADHOIUSE. In 2012, he formed a new company called MAPPA, which has produced works such as Kids on the Slope, Space Brothers, and Space Dandy.
