Kodansha Comics Launches a Simulpub of the A Sign of Affection Manga

Kodansha Comics has announced that it is offering Suu Morishita’s A Sign of Affection (Yubisaki to Renren) manga as a simulpub, with US$1.99 for each monthly chapter on the same day as Japan. The simulpub is available on Amazon Kindle, comixology, BookWalker and Crunchyroll starting on July 21, 2020. The print edition will start shipping in Spring 2021, and Kodansha Comics posted an interview with Morishita.

Kodansha Comics is already offering the manga digitally by volume.

Morishita launched A Sign of Affection in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine in July 2017.

Kodansha Comics to Release the A Sign of Affection Manga in Print, and Vertical Will Release the Blood on the Tracks Manga Digitally

Kodansha USA Publishing, which handles the Kodansha Comics and Vertical imprints, announced during its Anime Expo Lite panel that Suu Morishita’s A Sign of Affection manga will get a print release in March 2021. In addition, Vertical will release Shūzō Oshimi’s Blood on the Tracks (Chi no Wadachi) manga digitally starting in August 2021. The company will premiere the second volume digitally ahead of the print release.

Kodansha Comics launched the A Sign of Affection manga digitally on March 31, 2020, and it is getting a simulpub on Comixology, Crunchyroll, and BookWalker.

Vertical released the Blood on the Tracks manga’s first volume in print on February 25, 2020.

Kodansha Comics Announces Eight Manga for Digital Release

Kodansha Comics has announced that it will debut the following new manga digitally in March and April 2020:

  • A Condition Called Love (Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai) by Megumi Morino [debut date: March 3, 2020]
  • My Roomie Is a Dino (Gal to Kyōryū) by Moriko Mori and Cota Tomimura [debut date: March 10, 2020]
  • Kakushigoto: My Dad’s Secret Ambition by Kōji Kumeta [debut date: March 17, 2020]
  • Star⇄Crossed!! (Oshi ga Watashi de Watashi ga Oshi de) by Junko [debut date: March 24, 2020]
  • A Sign of Affection (Yubisaki to Renren) by Suu Morishita [debut date: March 31, 2020]
  • Orient by Shinobu Ohtaka [debut date: April 7, 2020]
  • The Hero Life of a (Self-Proclaimed) “Mediocre” Demon! (Jijō! Heibon Mazoku no Eiyū Life: B-kyú Mazoku nanoni Cheat Dungeon o Tsukutte Shimatta Kekka) by Shiroichi Amaui, Tamagonokimi, and Konekoneko [debut date: April 14, 2020]
  • Dolly Kill Kill by Yukiaki Kurando and Yusuke Nomura [debut date: April 21, 2020]

The publisher also released all 34 volumes of Harold Sakuishi’s Beck manga digitally on March 3, 2020. Comixology released the manga digitally in 2018-2019 as Comixology Originals.

Additionally, Kodansha Comics will release the first volume of Yayoi Ogawa’s Knight of the Ice manga on March 9, 2020, both digitally and in print. The publisher will also release the first volume of Natsumi Ando’s Something’s Wrong With Us manga digitally and in print on March 17, 2020, and Mingo Itō’s Yuzu the Pet Vet digitally and in print on March 24, 2020.

Kodansha Comics will also start releasing Rie Aruga’s Perfect World manga in print on April 21, 2020.
