Welcome to Lesley’s Anime and Manga Corner. I’m Lesley Aeschliman, and I served as the Anime editor for BellaOnline.com for about five-and-a-half years. During the time that I wrote for BellaOnline, I started to read manga, since many of the anime series I reviewed are based on manga series. As I began to read manga, my interest in it blossomed. I also wrote manga reviews for Blogcritics.org for almost two years, and many of my reviews were included in the site’s “Sixty Second Manga” feature. I have also been a columnist for MyAnimeList, and I also wrote manga and anime reviews and news for WatchPlayRead.
This blog features anime, manga and light novel news, and anime, manga and light novel reviews.
The blog also has a Facebook page, which includes links to posts published here, as well as Facebook exclusive posts. If you enjoy this blog, please like and follow the Facebook page!
The best ways to contact me are through comments left on the blog or through the Facebook page.
At this time, Lesley’s Anime and Manga Corner is only publishing reviews and articles that I have personally written; outside submissions are not accepted. However, I accept press releases and will write articles from press releases if I deem the news to be on-topic for this blog.
Now a little about me and how I got into anime: My father was in the Navy when I was a child, and he was stationed in Japan from the time I was a year old until I was five; this was back in the late 1970s. I have some hazy memories of the time that I lived there, but one of the things that stuck out to me was liking Candy Candy. I would see Star Blazers on American television a few years later, followed by Voltron and Robotech. My interest in anime was rekindled after my children started watching shows like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! in the early 2000s.
In addition to anime and manga, I also have an interest in music. I write music reviews for AeschTunes, another blog that I have.
Thank you for coming by Lesley’s Anime and Manga Corner.
Lesley, I just found your blog because I wanted to educate myself more about Anime since I haven’t seen nearly enough of it and I’m an avid movie lover. The site looks great and I look forward to following, thank you!
I’m not sure if it would even slightly interest you, but I have a movie blog that I’m proud of, and Anime was on my mind because I just saw and reviewed From Up On Poppy Hill, if you’d like to check out my review or my blog in general it’s:

Lesley, my 13.5-year-old daughter is a huge fan of manga. She is somewhat young for her age (she’s one of those special spectrum kids–and she really glams onto serials!). Recently, she has branched out into the teen manga from our local libraries. Your reviews are really helpful to me as I am not in familiar territory with manga (i.e., beyond Pokeman and Yu Gi Oh!), and especially the teen material. Now I’ll be able to discuss “fan service” with her…and perhaps direct her toward better quality material. I’ll be returning to your blog frequently, I’m sure. Thank you!!

You can post the same material you would on here and provide an ‘About the Author’ at the bottom of each of your pieces.
As for us, we’re a small group of writers, mostly new, dedicated to ‘All Things Nerd’. We help train writers on journalistic style writing, how to develop media relationships, and provide support as a community. Our readership continues to grow month after month, currently providing news, reviews, previews, and lists for more than 15,000 readers a month.
Let me know if this would be something you’d be interested in, and we can get you aboard almost immediately. Regardless, keep up the awesome pieces and I’ll keep coming back!
Best of everything,

Starblazers!! I watched that back then, too. These days, when I mention it as my first anime, folks usually give me blank stares.
