The Toronto International Film Festival has announced that it will screen the Canadian premiere of Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume anime film on April 13, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. EDT at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. The screening is part of the TIFF Next Wave Film Festival, which takes place from April 14-16, 2023. The film will screen in Canadian theaters on April 14, 2023.

Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Wild Bunch International, and Eurozoom will screen the film worldwide except in Asia starting on April 12, 2023. Crunchyroll will handle North American distribution, while Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will handle distribution in Latin America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Africa, and portions of Europe. Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Wild Bunch International, and Eurozoom will release the film in French- and German-speaking Europe. Suzume is planned to screen in 199 countries and territories.
