It was announced at the “grand finale” screening of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond anime film that a new three-episode original anime called Coleus’s Dream will premiere in Fall 2023.

Coleus’s Dream was a text story included in a bonus extra booklet with the Blu-ray Disc release of the second season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and it became a major story inspiration for the Scarlet Bond film. The “epic spectacle story” is set between the first two television seasons when Rimuru faces intrigue swirling around the Coleus Kingdom.

The first That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime premiered in October 2018. Crunchyroll simulcast the series as it aired in Japan, and FUNimation Entertainment streamed an English dub. The second anime season premiered its first cour in January 2021, and the second cour premiered in July 2021. Both FUNimation and Crunchyroll simulcast the second part as it aired in Japan, and FUNimation also streamed an English dub.

The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond anime film opened in Japanese theaters on November 25, 2022, and it was screened in all major global territories (excluding Asia) in early 2023.
