Deadline is reporting that Sword Art Online The Movie – Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night, the second film in the Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- anime film series, has earned US$607,000 in the United States. The movie opened in 892 locations in the United States on February 3, 2023, and had a per theater average (PTA) of US$681.

Box Office Mojo lists the film’s worldwide earnings (excluding the United States) at US$8,695,854.

Sword Art Online The Movie – Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night opened in the United States and Canada on February 3, 2023, and it is screening in Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub. The film also opened in the United Kingdom and Ireland on February 1, 2023, and in Australia and New Zealand on February 2, 2023. Crunchyroll will reveal additional theatrical dates for Europe and Latin America in the future.

Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night, the first anime film in the project, opened in Japan in October 2021. FUNimation Entertainment screened the film in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in December 2021. The first film earned US$1.05 Million in its opening weekend in the United States.
