The official Twitter account of Kazue Katō’s Blue Exorcist manga has announced that the manga will go on hiatus, and will not publish new chapters in the upcoming March 2023 and April 2023 issues of Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine. The manga plans to resume in the magazine’s May 2023 issue, which will release in April 2023.

Previously, Kato announced a hiatus in July 2021, stating that she felt she was unable to work on two simultaneous serializations and decided to focus on Eizen Karukaya Kaiitan, an adaptation of Fuyumi Ono’s novel. Though the short series concluded in April 2022, Kato said “12 years of fatigue exploded” and took another month to rest before resuming Blue Exorcist. The manga came back from hiatus in May 2022.

Katō launched the Blue Exorcist manga in Jump SQ. in 2009. VIZ Media publishes the manga in English.
