Aniplex of America announced at a 10th anniversary panel for Sword Art Online at Anime NYC 2022 that Sword Art Online The Movie – Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night, the second film in the Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- anime film series, will screen in the United States and Canada in February 2023.

The second film opened in Japanese theaters on October 22, 2022 after a delay and topped the box office chart in its first weekend.

The company also announced that Crunchyroll will begin streaming Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night, the first anime film in the project, on November 24, 2022. The film will then be released on Blu-ray Disc on January 19, 2023.
