Coming in January 2023, the 2019 supernatural action series Dororo arrives on HIDIVE. Previously streaming elsewhere in subtitles only, this critically praised anime from Tezuka Productions and MAPPA will now be available for fans to stream in both English sub and dub for the very first time. Directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi and written by Yasuko Kobayashi, the 24-episode television series is based on the Dororo manga series by legendary mangaka Osamu Tezuka.

During the Warring States period, the young thief Dororo encounters the enigmatic Hyakkimaru, a strange sightless boy who wields fearsome prosthetics in place of his missing limbs. Parts of Hyakkimaru’s body, skin and organs were traded to a group of 12 demons by his father in exchange for power and prosperity. Thanks to a kindly medicine man, Hyakkimaru survived this horrifying ordeal and now wanders the land in search of his missing body parts. Together, he and Dororo will fight to survive in a demon-plagued, dangerous and unforgiving world.

Dororo features the English dub originally produced by Sentai Filmworks for the series’ home video release. The English dub cast stars Adam Gibbs as Hyakkimaru, Chaney Moore as Dororo, Ty Mahany as Jukai and Patricia Duran as Nuinokata. The original Japanese cast stars Hiroki Suzuki as Hyakkimaru, Rio Suzuki as Dororo, Akio Otsuka as Jukai and Chie Nakamura as Nuinokata.

The home video release of Dororo is available in both Complete Collection and Premium Box Set editions from Sentai Filmworks.
