The official website for the Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai anime has announced that the series will have 100 episodes. Series director Kazuya Karasawa made the announcement.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai premiered in October 2020. Crunchyroll and Hulu are simulcasting the anime as it airs. The show went on hiatus after the Toei Animation hack in early March 2022, and aired its first new episode six weeks later on April 16, 2022.
