Los Angeles based film distribution and production company, Eleven Arts, announced their acquisition of the North American distribution rights for the DEEMO Memorial Keys anime film during their Industry Panel at A-Kon 2022.

DEEMO Memorial Keys is based on the internationally acclaimed rhythm game developed by Rayark Inc., a Taiwanese game developer. The game, with over 28 million downloads as of 2021, was released on November 13, 2013 for Apple devices, and on December 27, 2013 for Android devices. Since its debut, Deemo was nominated for “Best of 2013” for independent developer by the App Store Taiwan, and later named “Best Game Music” by Google Play Taiwan. Additionally, the song “I Race the Dawn” won Outstanding Achievement – Vocal Theme Award at the 2013 Annual Game Music Awards. Deemo‘s popularity has triggered multiple projects including the film adaption, manga, and the release of its sequel, Deemo II.

This 3DCG film adaptation tells the tale of a bittersweet love story between Deemo, a mysterious lonely character who plays the piano, and Alice, a young girl who has lost her memory. The film was animated by Production I.G and Signal.MD. Shūhei Matsushita directed the film along with Junichi Fujisaku, as general director. The film’s theme song named “nocturne” was produced by Yuki Kajiura, a renowned composer who has worked on scores for numerous anime works including Fate/Zero and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. This must-see film is full of charming characters, old and new, and illustrates the beautiful and melancholy world of Deemo.

Eleven Arts plans to announce details on release dates and ticket sales at a later date.
