Two Anime Films to Compete at the 2022 Annecy International Animation Film Festival

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival has announced 10 nominees for this year’s feature film competition category, including two anime films: Goodbye, Don Glees! directed by Atsuko Ishizuka and The House of the Lost on the Cape directed by Shinya Kawatsura.

Goodbye, Don Glees!, based on director Ishizuka’s own original screenplay, was released in 217 Japanese theaters on February 18, 2022.

The House of the Lost on the Cape, based on Sachiko Kashiwaba’s fantasy novel of the same name published by Kodanhsa in 2015, was released in Japan on August 27, 2021.

Established in 1960, Annecy is the world’s oldest and largest animation film festival. This year’s event will run from June 13-18, 2022 in the French town of the same name.
