The staff for director Kunihiko Ikuhara’s two Re:cycle of Penguindrum compilation films has announced that the second compilation film is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on July 22, 2022. It was also announced that the second film’s subtitle will be, I Love You. The film project is re-editing all 24 episodes of the television anime, and is also adding new sequences and new characters. The first film, Your Train Is the Survival Strategy, opened in Japanese theaters on April 29, 2022.

Ikuhara is directing the project, and Lily Hoshino is credited for the original character designs. Brains Base is also credited for the original television version’s production, while Lapin Track is producing the film version.

The original Penguindrum anime aired in Japan in 2011. Sentai Filmworks released the anime on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in North America.
