Blue Period Manga Is Taking a One Month Break

Tsubasa Yamaguchi, the creator of the award-winning Blue Period manga, has announced on their Twitter account that the manga will be taking at least a one month break from serialization in Monthly Afternoon because they contracted COVID-19. It was explained that Yamaguchi hasn’t been feeling well since “the other day” and got a PCR test, which confirmed that they had COVID-19.

In the tweet, Yamaguchi said that their condition is steadily improving, though they are “sleeping a lot and healing.” Yamaguchi is currently recovering at home from the virus with medical treatments.

Blue Period launched in June 2017 in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon manga magazine, winning the 13th Manga Taisho award and the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for Best General Manga. Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English.
