Voice Actor Jack Angel Passes Away

Voice actor Jack Angel passed away on October 19, 2021 at the age of 90, according to an Instagram post made by his agency.

Angel was a prolific voice actor whose career spanned nearly six decades. In anime, he provided the voice of the Radish Spirit in the English dub of the Spirited Away anime film, as well as the voice of a pilot in the English dub of Porco Rosso.

He also provided a number of voices for the Transformers cartoon (Omega Supreme, Ultra Magnus, Smokescreen, Astrotrain, Breakdown, Ramjet, and Cyclonus) and Voltron (King Zarkon, Commander Cossack, and Commander Yurak). He also provided his voice for G.I. Joe (Wet Suit), Jem (Emmett Benton in “Out of the Past,” as well as various additional voices), Super Friends (The Flash and Samurai), Spider-Man: The Animated Series (Nick Fury), and A Bug’s Life (Thud). Angel also provided additional voices for various animated series over his career, and he also provided voices for video games.
