Netflix to Stream the Children of the Sea Anime Film

The Fandom Post is reporting that Netflix is listing that the service will begin streaming the Children of the Sea anime film on September 1, 2020. However, it should be noted that as of this writing, there is no placeholder page for the film on the service.

Children of the Sea was originally scheduled to have theatrical screenings in the United States in August 2020, but these were cancelled due to COVID-19.

GKIDS will be releasing the film on home video on September 1, 2020, as a DVD and a Blu-ray/DVD Combo release. The DVD release is priced at $19.97 and comes with an interview with director Ayumu Watanabe, interview with composer Joe Hisaishi, animatic sequences, behind the scenes featurette, and theatrical trailers. The combo release is priced at $24.97 has all of that plus an exclusive feature-length documentary “Turep – Looking for Children of the Sea.” Both releases are bilingual with Japanese and English language tracks along with English, French, and Spanish subtitles.
