Anime Expo Holds “Lite” Event in July 2020

Anime Expo’s official Twitter account has announced that it will be hosting “Anime Expo Lite” on July 3 and July 4, 2020. The convention’s official website hasn’t posted any details about the event yet, but allows visitors to sign up for updates. The Twitter post features logos for Bushiroad, Crunchyroll, Pony Canyon, and VIZ Media.

Anime Expo 2020 was planned for July 2-5, 2020 but was canceled due to the COVID-19 situation.

FUNimation Entertainment announced on May 4, 2020 that it will host a virtual anime convention named the Funimation Con 2020 on July 3-4, 2020. The company describes the event as “A two-day stream of cosplay meetups, industry panels, Q&A sessions, and more.”

Wow, and the cutthroat scheduling competition continues! It’s gratifying to see these events offered, but you’d think there might be a little more consideration for the audience. . .

Hopefully they release more details soon. Would be really interesting to actually go to one of these assuming they have good panels.
