The official Twitter account for Daisuke Ashihara’s World Trigger manga has announced that a new chapter of the manga will not appear in the December 2019 issue of Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine on November 2, 2019 due to Ashihara’s poor physical health. The manga will resume in the magazine’s next issue on December 4, 2019.

The manga took a one month break in June 2019 due to Ashihara recovering from intestinal obstruction complications that arose from his cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal surgery).

The manga had resumed in October 2018 after being on hiatus since November 2016 due to Ashihara’s poor physical health. When it resumed, the manga ran for five issues in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine before moving to Jump SQ. in December 2018.

Ashihara took a one week break in September 2014 to treat the nerve roots affected by cervical spondylosis (wear and tear on neck area of spinal column), and had also taken several one week breaks due to sudden illness before the long hiatus in 2016-2018.

Ashihara debuted World Trigger in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2013.
