Voice Actor Robert Axelrod Passes Away

Booking agency Mobile Monicker Productions has announced on voice actor Robert Axelrod’s Twitter account that Axelrod passed away on September 7, 2019 in Los Angeles, California. He was 70 years old at the time of his passing.

Axelrod was born and raised in New York City, and started acting in commercials and theater as a child. He started acting as a voiceover artist in the early 1980s.

In anime, Axelrod’s credits include Rico in the Macross saga of Robotech, Mamo in the Streamline dub of Lupin the 3rd: The Mystery of Mamo, Dr. Sane in Farewell Space Battleship Yamato, and Tsutomu Sugioka in Neo-Tokyo. He also voiced several characters in the Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02 televison anime series, including Wizardmon, Armadillomon, MegaSeadramon, Vademon, Ankylomon, and Shakkoumon.

Axelrod’s other credits include Lord Zedd and Finster in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series, Kamiya in the live-action Zeiram film, The Blob‘s 1988 remake, Star Trek: Voyager, and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!
