Crunchyroll Expo 2019 has announced that it will host 22/7 anime voice actresses Sally Amaki (voice of Sakura Fujima), Kanae Shirosawa (voice of Akane Maruyama), and Ruri Umino (voice of Jun Toda) at this year’s convention. The voice actresses will participate in two panels and appear at the convention’s kick-off party on August 29, 2019.
The anime will premiere in January 2020.
The 22/7 idol project debuted and announced an anime project in 2017. The group began releasing animated music videos in 2017, and their first character videos debuted in English in May 2018.
AKB48 founder and producer Yasushi Akimoto is producing the “dimension-crossing” idol group. The group based on the concept of “idols who cross dimensions” has eight anime idol characters, with their respective voice actresses performing as idols in the real world. A different character designer is handling each member’s anime design.
Crunchyroll Expo will be held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California from August 30-September 1, 2019.
