Section23’s Maiden Japan imprint has announced that it has licensed the Asura Cryin’ and Kanamemo television anime series. Both anime premiered in Japan in 2009.
Asura Cryin’ adapts Gakuto Mikumo and Nao Watanuki’s original light novel series. Keizou Kusakawa directed the anime at Seven Arcs. Katsuhiko Koide was in charge of series composition, and Koide, Deko Akao, and Natsuko Takahashi wrote the scripts. Atsushi Komori designed the characters based on Watanuki’s original designs.
Kanamemo adapts Shōko Iwami’s slice-of-life comedy manga series. Shigehito Takayanagi directed the anime at feel. Rika Nakase was in charge of series composition, and Nakase, Michiko Yokote, and Yasuko Kamo wrote the scenario. Shinichi Tatsuta designed the characters.
