Justin Cook Is Returning for the English Dub of the New Fruits Basket Anime

The official English Twitter account for the new television anime of Natsuki Takaya’s Fruits Basket manga has announced that Justin Cook is returning as Hatsuharu Soma for the anime’s English dub. Cook played the role in the 2001 anime.

Other returning cast members include Laura Bailey as Tohru, Eric Vale as Yuki, Jerry Jewell as Kyo, and John Burgmeier as Shigure. Tia Ballard is joining the cast as Kagura and Mikaela Krantz joining the cast as Momiji. Caitlin Glass is directing the dub.

FUNimation Entertainment will screen the first two episodes of the anime in theaters in the United States in March 2019, and tickets go on sale on February 22, 2019. The company will reveal the exact screening date later. The screenings will feature an “exclusive gift pack” and Japanese and English voice actor commentary.

The new Fruits Basket anime is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television in April 2019. FUNimation will stream the series on FunimationNow. The company has also acquired the home video rights for the series.
