The Box Office Mojo website has reported that the Dragon Ball Super: Broly anime film earned an estimated US$10,657,442 in 467 theaters in the United States and Canada from January 18-January 20, 2019. If the film’s chart ranking holds up after updated box office receipts are reported on January 21, 2019, it will be the #3 film at the domestic box office — below another new film, Glass, and The Upside, but above the fifth weekend of Aquaman.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly already earned over US$7 million on 1,440 screens, including 180 IMAX and Cinemark XD screens, in its opening day on January 16, 2019. Altogether, Box Office Mojo reports that the film has a five-day total of US$21,077,471. That total already ranks the film at #3 on the all-time chart of anime films in the United States and Canada, behind 1999’s Pokemon: The First Movie and Pokemon 2000 – The Movie.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly already earned over US$65 million outside the United States and Canada, including nearly US$32 million in Japan alone. That brings its combined domestic and foreign total to nearly US$87 million.
