Police in Akita prefecture have identified a previously discovered body as Kō Takashina, the writer of Lupin III anime episodes, according to press inquiries. He was 76 years old at the time of his passing. The authorities cannot determine the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.

According to investigators, a company worker visiting on a job assignment discovered and reported the body on October 10, 2018. The body had no noticeable external injuries, but was already in a state of decomposition.
