The cast has been announced for the forthcoming anime adaptation of the Okoshiyasu Chitose-chan manga.
Shinichi Tsutsumi is narrating the series and all characters will be voiced by either Koji Yusa or Kotori Koiwai.
Singer-songwriter Nyanzonudeshi is performing the ending theme song “Naku Ko mo Warau” (Children Who Cry Also Laugh).
The “soothing short” manga follows Chitose, a fluffy Emperor penguin chick living in Kyoto. The stories depict such familiar Kyoto locales as Togetsu-kyō bridge, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine, and Kiyomizu-dera temple from a penguin’s perspective, as well as Kyoto cuisine.
Kyō Yatate is directing the anime and handling the series composition at the studio Gathering. Jun Mita is both the character designer and animation director. Koguma is composing the music, and VAP is producing and presenting the project.
The series of anime shorts is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television on October 6, 2018.
