The official Twitter account for Kodansha and pixiv’s Palcy manga app has announced that Shiki Yamori has launched a new manga based on Megumi Tachikawa’s Saint Tail manga. The manga is titled Kaitō Saint Tail girls!, and is set a few years after the original Saint Tail vanished, and a new girl rises to take up the mantle.
Yamori is the winner of Kodansha and pixiv’s contest to find an artist for the “next generation” version of the manga. The contest ran from June to July of 2017.
The original Saint Tail manga ran in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine from 1994 to 1996, and Kodansha released seven compiled book volumes. The manga inspired a television anime adaptation in 1995. Tokyopop released the manga and anime series in North America.
