Dragon Ball Recasts Bulma With Aya Hisakawa After Hiromi Tsuru’s Passing

Toei Animation has confirmed that Aya Hisakawa will voice the Dragon Ball character Bulma in the future, after Bulma’s previous voice actress Hiromi Tsuru passed away on November 16, 2017. Tsuru had already recorded Bulma’s dialogue for the 128th episode of the Dragon Ball Super anime, which will air in Japan on February 18, 2018. Toei Animation’s announcement notes that Hisakawa will voice Bulma for the foreseeable future of the Dragon Ball franchise as a whole, and not just Dragon Ball Super.

Hisakawa voiced Chiko in episode 16 of Dragon Ball Z. Her major anime roles include Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha‘s Lindy Harlaown, Sailor Moon‘s Ami Mizuno, Card Captor Sakura‘s Kerberos, and Ah! My Goddess‘ Skuld.
